Overall disappointed with the experience. Noted most rooms overlooked the parking lot rather than having a view of the Gulf as advertised. Due to Red Tide, unable to sit on the beach or go in the water. Pool area was small and packed with people, overrun with children and no seats available, no room in the pool. When checking in was not advised of Red Tide even though the room was not ready. Upon taking a walk to John's Pass while our room was prepared, noted thousands of dead fish in the water. When asking about the dead fish at the front desk, they explained the issues with Red Tide. Advised that people with breathing problems or issues with rashes could not go in the water or sit on the beach and my wife has asthma, Rather than cancelling the reservation without charge, I was still charged the first night deposit. Waiving the deposit should have been offered, at the least. Would not recommend this place to stay due to the poor customer service and the limited amenities offered.

First time visiting Sunset Vistas

Our first friends vacation was here at Sunset Vistas. 2 couples and we stayed in 208N - really nice room and was big enough for all 4 of us. The pool was nice but crowded at times. The location of this property was excellent in relation to the beach. It was so nice to walk out and the beach is literally right there. Only complaint is that I wish they offered beach towels or a complimentary chair rental for the beach. We were from out of town and had to use our room towels for the beach. The cafe is advertised as having such amenities as beach towels but I went in and they said they don’t offer that. Otherwise, very nice place, yes a little outdated but overall a nice place. We will stay there again if staying in the area for vacation.
Great family destination 🏖

Very pleased. Reasonably priced gulf view or gulf front condos. This was our second year to visit. 2 bedroom/2 bath has all the amenities of home. 602W gulf front was our unit this year; coffee tables getting worn otherwise no complaints, upgraded stainless appliances, washer/dryer very handy for beach days.
Free/Covered parking, this location a short drive to John’s Pass, Madeira or St Pete.
On property a cafe with sandwiches, highly recommend the Cuban; beach bar, bean bag toss, bicycles, ping pong, a Large pool & kiddie pool, perfect for families. The kiddie pool never used, found this to be our adult oasis…If ever you need a blanket, towels, etc, pick up at main desk with no questions, easy check in after 4pm, seriously a low key week, thank you Sunset vista….
Good stay but the resort needs some updating

This was our second time staying at Sunset Vistas over the last ten years, and with this visit, I was not as impressed with the resort. While the gulf front view and beach accessibility was really nice, the resort needs an upgrade. The rooms are a bit dated and it not as clean as we had expected (even with Covid safety cleaning protocols).
The elevator broke multiple times during our stay. Not a big deal for us as we were only on the 3rd floor but certainly an inconvenience with those that may have physical limitations. Warning, do not stay in a gulf front room on the 2nd or 3rd floor as you will hear loud crowds at the resort tiki bar late at night. We didn’t realize our room was right above the tiki bar and we heard noise until 1am every night. On a positive note, the staff was very nice and professional. If we needed more towels or other items they were promptly brought to our room. Overall, it was a decent stay. The view made it worth it but I don’t think I’d be open to returning until the resort has some updating done.
