Great stay
Wow. Really loved this cottage. Stayed there for seven nights. Small but definitely adequate room for one person or a couple who are using it as a place to hang their hat while out exploring. Very comfortable, well-kept and clean. Owners are very nice (made the guests espresso in the morning!) and have done a great job with the decor and cleanliness of the entire property. Very comfortable bed with duvet and nice pillows. Bathroom is tiny but tidy. Shower only - no tub. Nice amenities - floor heater, a/c, microwave, coffee pot, ceiling fan, fridge, cable, wi-fi, outdoor grills and picnic tables. Some morning road noise on the road to Acadia but this died down considerably at night and you can use the fan for white noise to sleep. Only 15 minutes or so from Bar Harbor and Acadia. Many day hikes and short road trips nearby. 10 minutes from Ellsworth and 40 minutes or so from Bangor. And was a great price. Definitely check this place out if you are in the area. No complaints. Would also say that I believe this is the first season this couple has owned the property so reviews prior to 2020 might not be as relevant. They really have done a good job with the decor, cleanliness and solidness of the property and I would definitely return for another weeklong stay.
a perfect find!
We were looking for a nice getaway over a long weekend and traveling with our dog. I was so pleasantly surprised to come across Isleview in my search. We were interested in staying outside of the Bar Harbor area and were within spitting distance to Acadia where we spent our says. My husband and I recently got married and I happened to mention this on the phone with Mike while booking and he was just as excited as we were! Mike and his wife run a fantastic establishment, the cottage was equipped with all of the basic amenities but had a wonderful feeling of home and comfort. It was very clean and well-maintained and my dog loved having the option of the open field in front where we grilled our dinner the first night. We can't wait to visit again!
Surprizing value
I stayed here for 4 nights. I stayed in a single room upstairs of the main building. Couples and families will have their own cottages with separate entrance. It is a charming place, the room is cozy and clean, the bed is comfortable with plushy bath towels. The host is nice too. Just recommended to my friends.
Loved this place!
I stayed two nights at the Isleview Motel and Cotttages and had a great time. Mike went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable, offer suggestions of things to do/places to see and generally made me feel very welcome. I stayed in one of the rooms (not a cottage) with a King bed and it was a nice stay. My only small complaints would be that the shower was very small (and had to maneuver around the toilet to get in and out of it) and it would have been nice to have a deadbolt or some sort of lock on the door besides a chain. Other than that, the stay was great and I'd return in a heartbeat!
Not our main home, but definitely our Maine home!
For anyone who doesn't know, Maine's slogan is "Welcome Home" and Isleview embodies that in every way. My sister and I spent nearly a week staying in one of the cottages, so that we could explore Bar Harbor and Acadia. I can't even begin to describe how nice it was to end each day coming back to a place that felt like a home-away-from-home. Sabrina, Mike and Cindy were all so friendly and always eager to give suggestions of fun things to do in the area. I knew we were going to enjoy visiting Maine, but our stay at Isleview made the trip a better one than we expected! :) Also, a note considering the uncertain circumstances of 2020, the rooms were thoroughly cleaned each day and all items left for us were individually wrapped, which was a great comfort.
