OK hotel near airport

I chose this hotel based on its ratings on Expedia. One of their two elevators was out of service, which meant hauling my luggage from one end of the property to the other - or carrying my bags down three flights of stairs. My room was tired and worn, with peeling "something" in my shower. One unusual feature of this hotel is the dinner they provide on certain nights. My dinner consisted of sweet-and-sour meatballs, plain rice, a bag of popcorn and a glass of chilled red wine. The server was really friendly, but the food was disappointing.
Nice hotel near airport

Nice hotel near the airport. Getting a little dated, but still very clean. Staff was very nice. Coming off of Covid seemed like everything was back to normal. Breakfast was hot and good. Variety of food. Great location with regards to airport. However, not many restaurants around that general area. About 15 minute drive from downtown Tucson
Pleasure To Stay Here

From the time I checked to the time I checked out we had an excellent stay at StayBridge Hotel near the airport. The young lady who checked us in was very polite and friendly, the afternoon shift was also polite and answered all my questions, the ladies who cleaned the rooms all the ones we saw were also so polite and friendly., the young lady in charge of the breakfast was always cleaning and keeping the food stocked. There was a young lady, Denise, who was always helping this lady in charge of the breakfast which meant the area was clean and the food fresh and warm. I enjoy very much staying at this hotel. Feels like I'm staying with family. Also the young man who was in charge of the evening get together was friendly and the food was kept warm and the area was clean. I just wish that this evening get Together would be extended to Thursday. The room on the east side was was closer to business room & to go swimming/Jacuzzi. The washing machines & dryers I must mention there is no charge to use them, Kudos Stay Bridge.
Management Needs to Do Better

I booked this hotel specifically because of the good looking pool and hot tub area. We were staying here after a long travel day and we just wanted a nice place to relax for the evening. I had cancelled a reservation at a similar competitor's hotel that was less expensive because of how nice the outdoor area looked. When we arrived and went to use the pool and hot tub the pool was dirty and cold and the hot tub was murky and not working. When I said something about it to the front desk I was told "Yeah, someone said something about that yesterday," and that was it. I was aggravated with the situation and ended up contacting the front desk later to ask about their "Hospitality Promise Program" which says they will do what they can to make the situation right or you don't pay for that part of the stay. I was told there was nothing that could be done until the manager was back on Monday (2 days later). This was absurd to me, hotels are a 24/7 business and you should have someone available to address problems like these when they come up whatever day it is, especially when you have a pledge to fix problems for customers. I will give credit to the front desk employee I spoke to when checking out. I raised the issue again and she was very apologetic and did offer me a very fair compensation. I appreciated what she was able to for me but that does not change that it was a failure of management that they do not have a process in place to address these issues when they arise. As for the hotel, I generally enjoy staying at Staybridge and this hotel has the potential to be as good as the other ones I've stayed at but management needs to be better about attention to details. There were multiple lights out in the hallways, as stated previously the hot tub was broken and the pool was dirty. There was a sign that was posted in the breakfast area about not being able to eat before the starting time that didn't even make sense. The location is close to the airport but there is not much else around the area.
Great Potential/Mediocre Reality

This hotel truly has a lot going for it. The suites are nice the amenities are decent and the breakfast is wonderful. However, the management is sloppy. The only seating option in the living area was ugly and uncomfortable, and had clearly seen better days; the large burner on the cooktop didn't work; the bathroom door was not plumb; the closet doors had to be dragged across the floor to open or close; the utensils etc provided for the kitchen were so sparse as to be laughable; the once a week "deep clean", which we had to reschedule because the previous appointment was a no show, did not touch the bathtub or toilet and did not refill the body wash etc.; the hallway outside our suite was not vacuumed for over a week, and it showed; we paid $150 for our pets and the hotel had no poop bag dispensers on the property; the pool water was scuzzy and the hot tub was cool; and half the machines in the laundry room were out of order, and in the space of our 9 day stay none were repaired. All said and done this could be an exceptional hotel...if it had competant proactive management.
