Our experience was shockingly different than other reviews. Would never stay here again
I realize these are tough times for the hotel industry but if this property wants to stay in business they have to at least pretend they care. Their staff Carmen and Jarmin were surly at best. If they can’t stand guests go get a job where you don’t have to deal with them. Breakfast times were miscommunicated. If the time on the wall says 930am you need to be abundantly clear that you’ve changed them. When we requested breakfast at 9.20am we were treated horribly. We finally got a packaged muffin and granola bar after taking a lot of abuse. The pool! Oh my gosh. They closed the pool out of the blue on a Saturday night with a house full of families. When asked when it would be open again we were told it is closed once a week every week for a DAY for deep cleaning. Again! No communication about this. The pool is pretty nasty and honestly it was gross to use the night before. But when you have kids you soldier through. Still gross and not clean. Eewwww. The one bright shining light is Victor who checked us in. He was a delight. So helpful and kind. He is a great rep. But bless his heart for being here. We had high hopes that were quickly dashed. Sorry Victor! You deserve better. The general manager Andrea Velasquez was completely absent. Carmin and Jarminn were just buck passers. Always blaming someone not present. Never again. Not this property. As for Springhill. We stayed in an amazing one last weekend in North Springfield. The brand can do the job. Just not the Tulsa location. Caveat emptor!
Responsive Staff
Carmen was very friendly and professional during check-in. A lamp had a problem and the engineering staff fixed it less than 15 minutes after reporting it. The room was pleasant and clean with a larger-than-expected sofa area. No complaints from me.
Do not enter
I try to stay at Marriot locations because I know what to expect. This is not in the standard of Marriot brand. The lobby was a standard Springhill Suites so I felt comfortable immediately. But when I opened the door to our room I was greeted with such an intense musty odor that I thought I was in a high school boys locker room. The sweet young lady at the desk brought keys to us and we changed rooms. The second room had a mold like smell. I was so tired we just turned up the AC and decided to stay. My poor daughter slept on the stain ridden pullout. Just when I was about to surrender and think the room wasn't so bad, mother and baby roaches were spotted. That turned our 2 nights into 1 and we left immediately. I felt like I was in a cheap motel. Was I on a hidden camera show? I'm not sure how this hotel got such great ratings.
Swim meet trip
Great hotel for the family. Breakfast was good, great workout facility and pool, and the location is awesome!! So close to so many things including a Starbucks!! The beds are comfortable and the staff was always willing to help!
Needs improvement
We stayed four nights (July 24-28). This place needs a refresh. Towels and floor show lots of wear. Similar to what others have said, there was trash under the couch. This place also seems much noisier than other places we have stayed recently, not sure if it's construction or the fellow guests at the time). We stayed in room 208, which is right across from the elevator. We were pleasantly surprised that we didn't hear much noise from the hallway, the room is above the lobby and you constantly hear the automatic door opening and closing (it took us a few days to realize what this was). We were not warned about this. The plumbing also seemed unusually loud (toilet flushes and showers of neighboring rooms). The breakfast was kind of mediocre, and they seem to have a problem with ants. On the bright side, the front desk staff was very friendly, though ultimately the issues could not/would not be addressed.
