Not perfect in the operations side but amazing staff and experience

This place has so many tiny minuses, they are hard to list. 4.5 stars is what i give it because the amazing stuff there was truly AMAZING. First of, the rooms are great but the check in process is painful. be prepared for things to be disorganized and you will get different answers every time you ask. We did end up paying about $140 for an upgrade bc we traveled with a big group and it was easier to have us all together. it was well worth the money bc we were right by the water park which the kids LOVED. the restaurant reservation process is sad if you don't learn to laugh at it. do yourself a favor, download the app 3 weeks in advance and do the reservations if they are important to you. everyone that comes in makes it a point to hog the reservations but not show up, that's why its a struggle. The Buffett is plentiful and you really can live without the specialty restaurants, BUT they are nice. their organization is iffy; looks like nobody is running the ship, but if you have enough drinks, do you really care? Getting to the best parts. The kids of ALL ages LOVED IT. This is the first time they wanted to stay in the kids club ALL DAY LONG. no joke. The staff there is so amazing all our kids were in love (we had a LOT of kids with us). There is a teens club that our teens actually wanted to be at, again a first. Basically, it is well worth the money and is beautiful and clean and the food is good, if you don't nit pick at the small stuff. would DEF go there again.

I would 100% recommend this hotel, the food, the service the location is all perfect there is nothing I could fault! The all inclusive is a cut above the rest! We will definitely be coming back here! It gives you everything you want from a holiday and more! Thank you for making our honeymoon the best experience of our life! Laura & Joe England
Average resort: You Get What You Pay For.

There is a lot to love at this property: the rooms are extremely clean, new and the beach is obviously beautiful. The premium wifi was fast enough to allow me to work from the room and take many video conference calls. Unfortunately, most everything else is just average. Food is mediocre at best, drinks are outright bad, restaurants are over ambitious and not worth the hassle. In addition, there were a few other strange issues we observed. Although the resort is mostly very clean, there is a raccoon problem. At night, the raccoons prevented us more than once from getting back into our room. Additionally, there is loud music being played everywhere at all active pool and beach hours. You will be hard-pressed to find a quiet place to sit and read. There are quiet pools and adults only sections at the next-door Bahia Akumal, but it will cost about $15 per person, per day to get a bracelet that gives you access. We found that this was worth it, but it was an additional expense. This is a budget all-inclusive property, no matter what the marketing material or other reviews say. Drinks are served in plastic cafeteria cups and are made with bottom-shelf alcohol. Beach and pool-side service is basically non-existent and there’s no room service. This is not the place to find gourmet food. For a last minute escape to the beach, this was an easy and satisfying option, but there’s a lot missing from this property. I was very happy to be on the beach and by the pool for a week, but will probably find somewhere higher end the next time I go to Riviera Maya.
COME HERE! IT IS AMAZING, IT IS PARADISE.

We have 1 more day at this resort and I can not say enough good things. The food is amazing, the rooms are great and the pools beach are perfect. The best thing about Mexico are the people. JJ and Augustin at the privilege desk were so courteous to me even though I was not part of the privilege club. If you go to the main buffet.... do yourself a favor and sit outside so you can meet Rodalfo and Gonzalo. My God, such beautiful people who come and make sure everything is good with your meal every 5 seconds. I cannot say enough about these guys. I am not a fan of Dos Equis beer but of you want the best spin on any beer you have ever had, go see Carlos at the Lobby Bar. He will make you a divine cocktail Called a michelada. He is a 100% professional. The only negative thing I will say about this resort is other tourists. If you can afford 2K to come to paradise for a week or so... you can afford to tip these amazing people a few dollars here and there. I am absolutely appalled that people coming from 1st world countries don't have the compassion to threat these amazing people the way they deserve to be treated. If you have the audacity to complain to the staff like they are your servants... stay home in your miserable environments. A couple dollars here and there make such a big difference in these people's lives and Mexico is not your playground. We are guests in this country and it's not a bad idea to act accordingly. We did an excursion with Hilda where we visited the ruins at Tulum and learned more about the Mayan culture. After that we explored an underground cave and then swam in a cenotè and underground river system. We finished the day by snorkeling with sea turtles. An absolutely beautiful experience. I could probably go on for hours about why I love this place. But I would rather explain how hard COVID has hurt the tourism industry and how important it is that when we come to places like this we do our best to take care of the people here. These are beautiful human beings and a small portion of what I make can be so helpful to them. Thank you so much to the staff here and everyone I met for your hospitality. Sincerely- Tyler Hassett

1. Allergy information is non-existent in all restaurants. Same tongs and spoons are used for everything, extreme cross-contamination. I wrote upfront about our food intolerances, nobody addressed it. 2. Waiting time for shuttles can get over 1 hour. Shuttles rarely go to the golf course, you have to walk yourself. Transportation staff is no help, and very rude too. 3. The truck is a complete mess. After waiting 30 mins for my order, staff threw over the counter at me someone's else cold garbage. And they were arguing with me that it is not cold. The lemonade dispenser was always out of order. 4. Stains on all linen. We found someone's soap on a shelf in our room (during COVID). The room never gets dark due to the light outside of the entryway. 5. I ordered a birthday surprise in a restaurant, they never did it. Moreover, my partner is diary-intolerant, yet, they did not even have a dessert for him on his birthday ( I notified them before). For the in-room surprise, they messed up the date. I wrote straight away to the guest relation for letting them fix things- no reply. 6. No late check-out is available, reception said that they are fully booked. However, on Booking.com they had rooms available. 7. No manager's cards are available to guests. Manager's do not even have email addresses according to the reception. 8. Overall service standards are extremely low, lots of leftovers in the buffet, food not fresh, no managers on the floor.
