Buyer beware

I booked at week at Kore Tulum but later had to cancel it. I cancelled on November 20 and still haven't seen my refund. It's been almost 2 months. I've reached out to them (very politely) numerous times requesting my refund. If you plan to book and cancel, don't expect to see your money back so quickly.

A 2 star resort claiming to be 5 stars. SAVE YOUR MONEY.

Reviewed 12 january, 2022

We just got back from Kore, and it's the first time we were actually relieved to be leaving our vacation spot! We went to Tulum and stay at KORE to celebrate our birthday and anniversary. I had emailed reservations to ask if they do anything special and they said they will decorate our room, and give us a bottle of wine. 3-4 days into our 10 day stay and still nothing. This is the e-mail I sent to Victor Bernal: Hi victor, We still haven't had any wine or decor in the room yet but this is not surprising as the service as the resort has been very disappointing so far. We also complained to the front desk/concierge and no changes have really been implemented. This resort claims to be a 5 star resort but it's barely even 3 stars. I am really regretting booking this place as it does not meet the standards. We have an all inclusive package, we gave our dietary information and yet there are barely any vegetarian or vegan options. It's not even worth it to get an all inclusive package. Coconot water for $5? This should be standard in a beach vacation and an all inclusive. If you charge for coconot water then it's not really all inclusive now, is it? Some servers are rude, our room/jacuzzi was dirty on arrival. This is a SPA resort and yet the sauna doesn't work. The value and experience is not 5 stars. HIS RESPONSE? We agreed to the extra charged upon check in. WOW. Well, obviously we will agree to them as the extra charges were not disclosed on their website PRIOR to paying and making a reservation. That is shady business practice. Additional feedback: - The music by the pool is so loud that we can't relax and enjoy some peace and quiet in our balcony. We have come here to listen to the ocean sounds as enjoy some peace and quiet, not listen to ratchet low quality music. - The house keeping consistently forgets to replenish something - either it's coffee or water or hand towels or soap. - The wifi doesn't work half the time. - Can't charge things to the room, and constantly have to carry cash/card around. We picked an all inclusive resort so that we didn't have to worry about carrying cash and paying for services and just freely enjoy our vacation. We have traveled in several countries and always choose an all inclusive package for the convenience - this resort should not advertise itself as an all inclusive. They even claimed that WINE us not included in the all inclusive package. - We went to the bar to ask for water as the house keeping hadn't replenished the water for the day. I wanted 2 bottles as I drink a lot of water, and the bartender said we are only allowed 1 bottle per guest. Seriously? You are going to ration water at an all inclusive resort? - Inconsistency about coconut water and wine charges. My friend in a different room was woken up the other day and offered free coconut water. When we wanted the same they wanted to charge us. The food and beverage manager claimed that the resort charges for wine and coconut (again, not ALL inclusive) but then we had free wine at the bar a few days ago. So which one is it? I would understand paying additional money for services such as laundry, spa, bottle of champagne etc. But it's ridiculous that even something simple as wine and coconut water is not included. It's not about the money, it's about the principle of the matter. - The pool staff is amazing as is Christobal in the kitchen. He brought us an amazing dinner last night. At least someone cares about the quality of our experience. By the way, on our last day we found out that Christobal no longer works at the resort due to issues with the resort and how they run things. - The beach is DIRTY, and smells bad. - Neither Victor, nor the concierge made any attempts to fix/correct the issues. We never received the decor or wine. If you are a seasoned traveler that is expecting a 5 star resort, please do not stay here. TRUST ME.

NO REFUND FOR CANCELLATION 6+ MONTHS LATER

Reviewed 2 january, 2022

* DO NOT BOOK HERE - THEY WILL NOT REFUND YOU * I am currently still trying to receive my refund from Kore Tulum. I had to cancel my original reservation, and was promised a 100% refund if I cancelled at least two weeks prior to check in, which I did. At the time of cancelation, I was promised refund with 3-4 months. It’s been 6 months now. I’ve been told multiple times that my refund was going to be processed, and that the “accounting department” was slow to respond. I’ve heard this same excuse multiple times. I’m suspecting bad faith at this point, and think KORE TULUM is intentionally withholding a promised repayment and DEFAULTING on their obligations. I will continue to update this post, and advise whether I’ve been refunded. On Dec 12, they advised my refund has been processed. I HAVE STILL NOT RECEIVED MY REFUND! This is beyond ridiculous and unprofessional, I want what is owed to me, and I want it now. These people can’t be trusted with your money, why would you trust them with your vacation?

refund nightmare

Reviewed 28 december, 2021

Per their website as well as the reservation specialist I was emailing back and forth, they offer a 100% refund within a certain time frame. Don't fall for it. If have been trying to get an answer of when my refund will be for 8 weeks. In the email they said it would take 2-3 weeks. They have now stopped responding. Do not book unless you are 100% going no matter what life throws at you or you are willing to throw good money down the drain.

Amazing weekend in the resort

Reviewed 27 december, 2021

The hotel exceeded our expectations. Our room Jacuzzi with garden view was beautifuly big and very clean. The people in the hotel very friendly. Special thanks to Fabian at night and Julian during the day who were extremely nice also Monica in the pool area. We could rest, go to the beach and take a massage at the spa. I recommend anyone to stay here. What is great is the policy of no kids. You won't regret it.
