ROOM(S): Exactly as pictured. Double rooms 1230 and 1329. King room 1401, 1402, 1329 Bed’s comfy except bed bug room 1402. Pillows plentiful and up to standard. King rooms have do not disturb signs, Double rooms do not. All rooms have peep hole, lock and chain. Desk chair and hangers good. BATH: 3 rooms with king beds had no hot water in shower. Many service calls produced only lukewarm, again gave up. 2 rooms with double bed had instant hot water. All rooms good water pressure in sink /shower. Floor look grimy even after cleaning. Two bath and hand towels. One floor towel. CLIMATE CONTROL:- Good. Carrier Brand. Cool, Dry and Heat settings. Dry setting at 30 works best as cool gets humid. CLEANLINESS: Hit or miss. Mostly good. Floors cleaned with spray bottle of pink stuff and wiped clean. Found many hairs in each“new room” SOUNDPROOFING: - Good between rooms IF guests keep doors closed. Hall sounds very loud. Rooms with windows facing front or rear building noisy from outside. Rooms in rear have semi trucks running all night. Ear plugs solved none of these problems. Had horrible night with group of young folks in seven rooms who would not close doors. This went on from 5pm till midnight. Also screams in hall (one kids alarm method) at 3:35, 5:30 am. Staff NOT helpful in control when I was threatened by man (for complaining about his screaming and noise) at front desk. Nothing was done to help. STILL UNRESOLVED. Emails on issue not answered. Rules and regulation not available in English and NOT enforced when 'man' involved. WIFI: Good but not secure. There are many, many routers. Suggest hotel put name of router on each so guests know which is closest. Use VPN! Hotel password not secure and often folks not guests are outside using lobby connection. Do not use wifi on lobby router for this reason. BREAKFAST/FOOD - Served 0700 -1100 hrs. Able to eat picked out eggs 4 days of 13. Horrid and unhygienic. Fruits slimy and cut 20 hours before serving. All food recycled to next day. Eggs are 50% mixed EVERYDAY with cold hotdogs or ham & often filled with sweet, unidentifiable veggies + MSG coating. Beans are tasteless and runny. Chilaquiles served one day tasteless and soggy. Cheese is in dirty plastic container. Yogurt dumped into steel container (not individual) and recycled daily. Super sweet ‘granola’ and cereal boxes. Juices soured and watered down. Hot food is eggs and beans. Heat turned OFF by 9am. No microwave. White bread and stale pastries. Glassware turned top down on counter without barrier. Silverware often dirty. No spices, no sauces offered. Chef says loves his job because “gets to eat all day.”. Two TV’s. Tables not wiped down after each guest. INSECTS: Lobby, 2nd and 4th floor filled with mosquitos. 3rd floor no mosquitos, Room 1402 has bed bugs, but they don’t care… STAFF and ASSISTANCE: All staff aside reception are friendly and quickly helpful. Manager Mr. Alfred (if available) gets things done fast. Day reception pleasant, hardworking but lie outright about room availability-- with a smile, All requests have taken one to three hours to get satisfied. Night desk staff exceptional, helpful and pleasant, can work out English requests. In emergency or illness if no Spanish your’e probably screwed. My sick days here were met with laughter. None trained on evacuation basics. Monday to Saturday there is NO manager on site after 4pm. Sundays no manager or administration help. Nationals can check out up to 5pm. Foreigners told 1pm. FIRE/EQ SAFETY: Five floors of rooms + lobby. Smoke detectors in each room IMPROPERLY installed on wall near bed next to air conditioner. If smoke to fill room and detectors had working batteries room would fill with smoke before reaching detector. There are NO detectors in any hall, no sprinkler system. Fire hoses locked up with no hammer to break glass. Many extinguishers throughout. Using depends on you getting out of room and knowing source of fire.. No fire doors on stairs, hollow core, lightweight and do not close tightly. Thus stairwell would fill with fire and smoke quickly. Bring rope for window evacuation. Eleven steps per landing, last flight uneven. Lights installed in stairwell noticed after one week. SECURITY: Lock front glass doors after midnight. Parking entered with ticket. No human security assistance in hotel.. Room safe-boxes require request of ‘insert’ from staff—gave up after 4th request. Doors use card key. Security cams on floors do not appear turned on. RATES:- Increased rates by 50 pesos for low season. Can save $2 by booking with choice hotels. Discount on two week stay with no breakfast, $1 . Best price offered 590 pesos. Taxes 18%. Accept credit cards, good cancel policy. LOCATION: Near ADO bus station. They will pick up and drop off for free if prearranged. Good food is tough. No local restaurants within miles. Food at Plaza Americana attached is airport-priced and typically American food sourced. Nutrition on long stay takes work and compromise. Healthy, special needs or plant based diet here may starve. FACILITIES : Pool tiny, indoors, generally smelly. Gym looks good w new American standard equip. Treadmill at night often a ‘bed.’Two elevators hold 1200 pounds& worked fine. No areas to sit to relax outside of room or lobby. NOTE: Came for one night. Due to lasting Chikungunya and travel delays extended. Illness met with laughter. Hotel funnels foreigners to floor two. Floor two (saw 6 rooms) has no windows that open, security boxes not bolted down, smoke detectors have no or dead batteries, no light in desk lamp first night. Three walls clocks at reception showed wrong time. This took 8 days of requests to be corrected. Typos and grammar my own ;)

Excellent Service

Reviewed 15 december, 2016

I had no clue what to expect when I found this as the only available hotel for an event I had panned, but I was surprised at the excellent service I received. The included breakfast is good. They went overboard with finding things and solving problems for us. I had a 100 people seminar and they handled the coffe breaks and everything perfectly. Congratulations to the great team that made that little cornered hotel excellent for our event.

Great value and a nice break

Reviewed 3 march, 2016

we are overlanding Mexico and wanted a break from our camper. This hotel was great value for the price. The hotel is pretty new; has comfy rooms with HOT water, TV's, even king beds. The room was very clean as was the entire hotel. The staff was helpful and friendly even so far as giving us maps and telling us how to get to places with detailed instructions. Nearly all staff spoke some English. Breakfast is included and there is a gym and a pool. the Wi-Fi is super fast.
