I came to this motel to get away for a moment in taking care of my very old mother. However, we arrived early in hopes to get set up.. But our car broke downand had to borrow one just to get to the motel. Only to be told that we could not get in till 3 o'clock as no room was ready although there was nobody who was there. The owner was unfriendly. I explained in my cancelation request why and she refused and therefore charging me full rate. I find that this is an extremely poor way of doing business and have never came across this before. I understand a fee but I do not understand under in such circumstances to be denied. There does not state on the website that this is a final Fee and there are no cancelations allowed. So now I'm not only stuck with an expensive car rental fee also amhotel I did not stay at.
Stunning space, exceptional service

Harmony Motel was the perfect space to stay! I went on a trip with my two sisters and we stayed in Chuck's Cabin. On top of accomodating our late and very early check-in and out times, the hotel manager, Ash, was exceptionally kind, thoughtful, and diligent. Her communication was clear, consistent and timely. The space itself was so special. There was a beautiful view of the mountains right outside our back porch, as well as a grill, washer and dryer and full kitchen. The cabin was bathed in sun and even with a weekend in the 80's, stayed cool. The nature trail just behind the cabin and telescope were also very cool. It was peaceful and beautiful - and close to the entrance of Joshua Tree Park, as well as a cute downtown (farmer's market, thrift shops and a saloon). The pool was also lovely and has a beautiful view of the mountains. You couldn't pick a better place to stay - highly recommend.
Wonderful, quiet, and charming

We stayed at the Harmony Motel for close to a week and it was absolutely perfect! The rooms are adorable and spotlessly clean. The kitchen was fabulous! We loved being able to cook and eat in and there is a cute little table with chairs outside each room which was nice for dining al fresco. There is definitely some road noise, which is to be expected, but otherwise this is a very quiet, mellow, location which is great. And the sunrises are incredible! The pool is very cold (which is probably great in the summer), and the hot tub is closed because of COVID, which was a tad disappointing, but this place was so charming that all the other nice features made up for it. And it's so close to Joshua Tree National Park which is fantastic! Day trips to the park are very easy. In short, we really loved our stay here. Ash was very welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed. If you are looking for a well cared for, clean, and unique place to stay that is different than the usual run of the mill boring chain hotel/motel, this is it!
Harmony Motel exemplifies the character of the place

Harmony Motel is a classic tourist court style like those invented when Americans first took to the highways in the mid 20th century. Many of the rooms have attached full kitchens, as was the custom back then, when folks didn't find restaurants on the road. The motel has a beautiful view of the desert vistas, and you can see the sunrise from your window. There is a pool, a lovely courtyard marked off by rocks and desert garden art. Ash, the proprietor and owner, is smart, courteous, and keeps customers uppermost in mind. I have stayed twice and will come back again.

Super cute grounds at this place. Very spacious rooms and a separate kitchen with everything we needed'. The pool and hot tub are a o bonus. Very close to the park entrance which made zipping in and out real easy.
