Great food, awesome views

Had lunch outside on the terrace, views are to die for. Food was delicious - from amazing Poke bowls to pizza. Kept kids and adults extremely happy. Wine list is awesome, from delicious affordables to stellar names. Some easy and challenging walks on the doorstep ... I'd suggest pre-lunch. When the sun is shining nowhere I'd rather be.
Great food, good staff and excellent location

I can't comment on the restaurant or hotel in winter, but in the summer we had a few excellent eating experiences, for both lunch and dinner. Good quality food at good prices, with some beautiful views over the valley.

The place is very beautiful but it is expensive and service is not good enough. If you ask people to pay like a 5* hotel you need to guarantee a high level of service. (No room service for example, towels are not changed every day and dust was everywhere). The Spa manager was absolutely rude with guests, everybody complained. Children are not allowed in the pool after six pm (they ski until 5pm so basically they cannot enjoy the pool which is very bad) The employees (many of them) were often taking their break in the lounge area which was not appropriate. The restaurant was the worst thing really. Super expensive, very little choice and no kids menu. Since you have no alternatives at 2550m, we had to content ourselves. We won't go back.
Way better places with less hassle.

Went for dinner, got the Gondola up from VDS. All a bit vague getting there. Terrible service, zero interest and shambolic. Food very random, massive cold meat starter, then cold linguine. Waiters disinterested. Left for a drink back in VDS. Don’t waste your time going here, way better places in VDS with less hassle.
So rude and we are not the only ones it seems

Rudeness I've rarely encountered. Booked weeks before trip for a large group at 1pm. Confirmed in writing. Chalet provider confirmed the morning of the booking. Reply from restaurant received in writing. We arrived at 12:45, 15 minutes early and were refused a table due to being 15 minutes late! Regardless of their mistake we were trying to say we would order quickly and have just a main, mainly because one of our party was heavily pregnant and had come up the gondola especially to meet us. We weren't just refused but we're spoken to as if scum. it was awful. Our chalet provider Scott Dunn reported several incidents over the preceeding weeks and has informed us they will stop recommending them. This was a display of arrogance and rudeness I've never experienced in the service industry. We had 14 people and an hour and a quarter before they required the table but they displayed contempt at the thought of accommodating us. People who treat others like this deserve the negative consequences that come with it.
