We came for a one-night staycation. Self-parking was easy and the valet was helpful without expecting a tip. Check in was suer fast. They had upgraded us to top floor with corner suite. Fantastic view of the city, comfortable bed. All facilities were well maintained with attention to detail. Great ambiance at the cocktail bar downstairs. Really happy with our stay, highly recommend.
Lovely Hotel, Ideal Location

Ah, the Sutton Place Hotel! I remember my aunt used to stay here in the late 1980s – when the hotel was practically brand new – and I was often jealous. My grandparents occasionally tell a fun story: We were visiting my aunt in her room, at the Sutton, but had to go back to my parents’ house. I asked them, “How come auntie gets to stay in big, fancy hotel room and we have to stay in an ugly old house?” Ah, you have to love childhood innocence! Anyway, it took a few decades but I finally had the pleasure of staying at the Sutton . . . and it was a total joy! Entering the hotel, you get an immediate sense of its classic, elegant design: First, you’re greeted by a friendly and personable doorman; then you see the beautiful lobby, with its chandeliers, white crown molding, beautiful earthy tones and carpeted staircase. For me, this certainly alluded to what became a most enjoyable stay. Our room, a “Sutton Room – 1 King Bed,” was equally pleasant. The neutral walls complemented the patterned carpet, grey sofa and dark wood furniture. The bathroom, with its marble flooring, brass-handled sink and walk-in shower, continued the classic theme in a very attractive way. We really appreciated the 55” Smart HD TV (being able to connect up to YouTube and Netflix was really nice), complimentary WiFi and charging ports for our Smart devices. Finally, our king bed was exceptionally comfortable and so nice to get into after a long day! Old-world charm and modern contemporary nuances, indeed! In terms of amenities, the Sutton Hotel offers everything we’ve come to expect of a modern establishment: A fine restaurant in Boulevard Kitchen (where I’ve had the pleasure of enjoying breakfast), a lounge, fitness centre, event space, and a small market that sells coffee and other such sundries. Actually, I’d be remiss if I failed to mention the staff here: After coming in for a late movie, my partner and I were rather thirsty (must’ve been all the salty popcorn). Unfortunately, the sundry shop was closed at this time; however, the staff were gracious enough to open it up for us, let us select our beverages and simply charge it to the room. This, for me, was a pivotal moment in that it demonstrated the Sutton’s commitment to excellent customer service. They didn’t have to open the little shop for us, but they did. Lastly, the location of Sutton is more than ideal whether you’re in town for business or leisure. The outstanding Le Crocodile restaurant is practically next door; trendy Robson Street is a mere block away; Pacific Centre Mall is a mere 5-miute walk, ditto the Vancouver Art Gallery; you will have easy access to SkyTrain; Gastown is roughly 15 minutes away; and, English Bay is approximately 20 minutes down the road. In short, the Sutton has a wide-ranging appeal. All in all, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Sutton Hotel. It combined a subtle luxury with a high level of service and comfort. This, concomitant with Sutton’s fair value for money and perfect location, made for a wonderful few days. Recommended!
Great Stay in Vancouver

Clean, Fast and efficient. Close to all downtown has to offer. Many restaurants within walking distance. Breakfast in the hotel's restaurant is great. Hotel had Gym and pool but I didn't use. The bar closes too early in the hotel but it's not a deal breaker.

Things have gone down hill. 9pm- no room service. Empty minibar (? covid). Pressure to leave bar due to lack of tables. Bar doesn't open until 5pm - we were told 6PM. For a 5 star hotel, this is for sure a blah experience. Save your money, stay at the Sandman on Davie St.

First time coming to Vancouver from Ontario and didn’t know what to expect much. The staff here are phenomenal. So kind and welcoming. The people that greet you at the door really made my day every time I saw them. Pool was open (hot tub was closed). They upgraded our room to have a fantastic view of the city (and mountains!!). Room was clean, hotel was clean. Location is GREAT. We were able to walk to Stanley Park in 20 minutes and down to Canada Place in about 15. Everything is in walking distance including the sky train to the Airport. Only negative was the lack of outlets in the room. Only one in the bathroom and in the very corner of the room. The 2 outlets in the lamp (that was also in the corner of the room) didn’t work properly. Not a huge deal but just something to consider :) overall had a great trip and the hotel is beautiful!
