More about the hotel
Weekend in Venice
We really enjoyed our stay at the Kempinsky San Clemente Palace. The staff was very helpful, in particular at the reception. The food was delicious! We had a beautiful room with a view on the lake. We would absolutely recommend this hotel.
Calmness and serenity in Venice
My wife and I have just returned from this beautiful hotel which occupies its own island 10 minutes water shuttle from San Marco. As with most of not all hotels in Venice, the exterior of these building do not catch the eye, but do not be fooled, inside you will find beauty and refinement that is breathtaking. The San Clemente Kempinski is a magnificently spacious hotel and our Grand Deluxe room with both lagoon and garden views did not disappoint. Every member of staff you encounter is friendly welcoming and professional and nothing is too much trouble. All Covid 19 protocols are in place with mask wearing staff and all but a minority of guests observing the mask rule both indoors and outdoors. Of course you expect to pay for these services so the prices of food and drink are high - but well worth it in our opinion. The aforementioned courtesy private water shuttle runs to and from SAN Marco every 40 minutes and literally pops you across the water, to enjoy the sights of Venice city with its many many shops, literally at every turn. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and will be back soon.
Charming but expensive
We booked for a night at this really wonderful, quit and charming place and we like it really, Wonderful garden, nice rooms, sundowner in the garden. Really good, But the prices are incredible high for this time of season in October. The pool was closed, the spa was closed, only the breakfast-room (the same room is also the dining-room) was opened. the service friendly but still in training. For our opinion, at this time they could do much better at this price-level.
This is the chance to see Venice like never before
After all the media coverage on „Venice without mass tourism“ my wife and I did a weekend trip and had the BEST experience EVER! Venice is beautiful without the massive crowds and everyone is even more charming and friendly. The Kempinski San Clemente Palace is on an island close to Piazza San Marco and connected with a permanent and complimentary shuttle boat. This is so convenient, because after exploring the buzzing city and lively places you jump on the boat and enjoy a luxury ride of 10min to that wonderful retreat. The hotel is in an ancient building that has been restored beautifully (while you don’t have to miss any amenity like air con etc). The large park has many beautiful spots to sit / read or even do a jogging round in the morning! We stayed in other hotels before but this combination of exclusive retreat and close proximity to the historic centre is marvellous. And right now is problem a once in a lifetime chance to see the city as it should be.
Island retreat close to heart of Venice
We loved this old monastery now turned into a hotel. In the midst of a pandemic it offered exactly what we wanted - space indoors and outdoors. The hotel is on a small island 10 minutes in a boat from St Mark's Square. It has lovely gardens, a swimming pool and beautiful views of the Venice skyline. Rooms are larger than in hotels in the city and having lovely outdoor places to sit and relax was a huge boon. The staff were all really friendly and helpful, suggesting excellent local restaurants and interesting trips to take.
