Good place to stay

Now I wouldn’t have normally booked this type of hotel but it was recommended to me by a friend. However the location was good, breakfast has a pretty good selection so you should be able to find something you like and there is more than enough to fill you up. The staff are very friendly and more than happy to help you out. I got them to order flowers, a cake and bubbles for my wife’s birthday. We had them organising trips. I did notice that there were hotel rooms directly off the breakfast room which I personally wouldn’t want to stay in (200-205 if I remember correctly). The only thing that’s not positive about my stay was the aircon in my room (402), it only blew out hot air. If you turned it off and opened the windows, the mosquitoes would come in, if you turn off the aircon there is a terrible noise coming from its vicinity. Your choices are hot and quiet, warm and noisy or cool and bitten to death. However I never raised this with the hotel so I only have myself to blame, as I’m sure they would have rectified the issue had I said something. The wifi worked well and if I were to return to Venice I would definitely consider staying here again.
Not a 4* hotel in any way!

Not a 4* hotel by any means, 2* hotel at best! I am a travel agent who's been around 50 countries and done all styles of trips: backpacking, ultra luxury, small group tours etc. This is also my 4th time travelling around Italy so you can say I have some experience with hotels. This time around I'm staying at hotels my company sells and writing reports on them. For the Ca dei conti Hotel I will recommend that we stop selling it immediately. I arrived to check in and was sent to "a brand new building" which is around a block away from the main hotel and this is never good. When I opened the room I could not believe the state of it, not even those €10 a night hostels in Asia are this bad. I went back immediately to complain and ask if that was indeed a "comfort" room that I've was booked by my company. The man at reception apologised and said it was the only room available, but suddenly, after mentioning I was a travel agent inspecting the hotel, he had another two "comfort" rooms ready for me to choose. I went for the one that looked less bad, but still lacked some very basic features of a 4 star hotel such as the following: - No drainage on shower - No WiFi signal in the room (I was beside the lobby) - No kettle available - No plugs beside the bed to charge your phones - AC didn't work properly - Stains inside the wardrobe - no key card, it's an actual key with a heavy paperweight for extra inconvenience. - Probably the worst pillows I've ever slept on, I believe wrapping a wodden plank on a pillow cover would be more comfortable Its like they make an effort to be as inconvenient as possible, and scam people downgrading the room type you book and selling as an upgrade. Probably the worst hotel experience I've ever had.
Old world ambiance

This smallish hotel has beautiful suites that make you feel as if you’re in a 1950s film. Specious, clean and under 200 euros at the writing of this review. Near main piazza and shopping. Nice staff…Great experience!

From an amazing professional reception to departure the staff could not have been nicer. Very helpful when asking for information about sights to see. Breakfast was buffet, hot and cold, very pleasant. Got a room upgrade which was wonderful. Would return 👍🏻
Beautiful little gem

We visited Venice in late January before COVID hit - for my birthday. Our room was delightful. We overlooked the canal around the hotel - so beautiful! The only thing I'd say is mind the mosquitos! We got bit a few times - so itchy! Our room led onto the breakfast room but the room was sound proofed. You could hear a pin drop! The staff were very helpful - wishing us well and helped us with our coach back to the airport. Rooms were spotless - cleaned every day. A rose and champagne were placed in the room too - which was a lovely touch. Breakfast was nice - not much for veggies or vegans - but delicious. The pancakes were a welcomed touch - my boyfriend loved them! Coffee was lovely too - breakfast staff were quiet but very helpful and polite too. The roof top terrace was perfect - it was a still a little chilly when we went - but I bet its incredible in summer. We were disappointed we didn't utilise it more to be honest. Beautiful touch. We will be returning and will be staying in the top suites - beautiful.
