Dog And Family Friendly Hotel

Reviewed 16 september, 2022

Had a great time at this pet friendly hotel. The room was not only big enough with our 2 kids and the dog to not feel cramped but it was clean and comfortable as well. The staff definitely tried to make us feel like it was a home away from home, giving our dog treats and love almost every time we took him out for an adventure. It was a great central location so we were able to walk to the bug zoo, miniature world and an ice cream place with the kids. The pool was also a nice feature to have for the kids. Will definitely stay there the next time we go to Victoria

Three night stay

Reviewed 15 september, 2022

Situated halfway up a hill. Room was small and made to feel even smaller by the size of the bed. Only one easy chair for a room for two. A very nice bar area on the 18th floor with lovely views, but does not open until 1530. A second bar on the ground floor opens 1700 is dark and dimly lit. Only had one meal in the hotel. Nothing special but nothing to complain about. Very helpful staff.

Nice get-away

Excellent stay at this hotel in a one bedroom suite. Great customer service, clean room, comfy beds, great location. Would definitely recommend. Only negative was the pool/ hot tub which we decided to avoid, due to extremely strong chlorine smell. Other than that, top marks!

Very conveniently located

We had 3 nights at the Chateau Victoria in a room on 3rd floor which was very large with a Queen size bed, small kitchenette, 2 writing desks and also a separate bedroom containing another Queen bed! More than enough for the 2 of us and to be honest we would have preferred a room with a large king size bed. The bathroom was smallish but everything was spotless. There was a small grubby balcony which overlooked a carpark. There was no housekeeping cleaning but each day someone entered the room and tidied the towels! This was the 5th hotel we stayed in during our Canadian trip and none of them offered housekeeping services but this was one of 2 which didn't offer a nightly refund of around $15 against dining charges... the other being a budget Motel type in Jasper and I wouldn't have expected a refund there. The Chateau however is more upmarket than that and I can only assume our travel agent chose it for it's location which is pretty close to the Fairmont Empress and the harbour area, where there are numerous restaurants and coffee shops. We chose to eat out during our stay as one of the hotel restaurants was closed during the time of our stay and we only have coffee in the morning. We had no problems or hassle during our stay and if you want a centrally located hotel with a complimentary shuttle service you will like this hotel.

Room not Serviced

Hotel very impressive when first arrive. Staff are always happy and very helpful. The comment is they bearing in mind you are paying £200 per night plus $36 for breakfast your room is not attended every day and you have to make your own bed unless you are staying more than 5 days then they will service your room once in this period. I thought this was really poor
