Disappointed by cleanliness

All the employees were very nice but the overall experience was not great. We reserved a king size bed for our room and instead they checked us into a room with 2 queen beds. Upon entering the room there was blonde hair stuck to the hair dryer that hasn’t been cleaned and also men’s beard hair on the counter of the bathroom, considering neither my boyfriend or I have blonde hair or a long beard this had to have been from previous guests. They also failed to mention that the front sliding doors lock at night and you have to lift some receiver to get back into the hotel that you are paying for? Watched multiple people get stuck outside last night when it was dark and cold, since there was no one at the front desk to help. Overall the place was exactly what you would expect from a hotel in this area, I would recommend going corporate.
We returned after about six months but will not stop here again. Also, separate $100 deposit required to check in

This was our third or fourth time staying at this hotel while traveling. First time was good, then came covid. We stayed back in June of 2021 and it was just ok. My wife and I said we would try it again and the restaurant next door, Red Stag. As we checked in a large sign was on the counter requiring a $100 deposit for the room that would be refunded if there was no problems. I also read the rules that one said no decorations in the room and absolutely no pool parties. We’re not party people so I was able to see through the forest that this hotel has had problems. No hotels we have stayed at in years of traveling have required a $100 deposit in addition to the room charge and was a separate credit card charge. The rooms are getting the old look and need upgraded so next time in Vidalia we will be looking for another hotel. It’s not that I couldn’t afford the deposit charge but the principal and it’s a Wyndham chain hotel. Also, my deposit was credited back to my credit card after the visit.

I don't think I would stay anywhere else in Vidalia. Service and scene are excellent. Staff is very nice. The area is appropriate for those concerned about covid 19. The room was very clean as well. Thank you.

Reasonable rates and a nice, clean room. Hot breakfast was a nice surprise! We checked in late after a long drive and there were no issues. The apartment suite we booked was ready and had a separate bedroom as advertised. The staff was great!
Caution - bug bites on arms upon waking

Bug bites on arms upon waking, but the front desk had housekeeping switch the bed to clean linens. No one told us about shortened breakfast hours, but Belinda was kind enough to let us in and make us each a breakfast plate.
