Lost a tiny bit of luster

We have been here a few times but oh my goodness is it crowded right now. Checked in yesterday and they messed up an allergy order for my son at the pool and I had vegetable stickers on my lunch pickles. I ordered a pineapple (my favorite) drink but the pineapple was brown and over ripe leaking everywhere. No one is masking in the elevators or distancing either. Not feeling the safest with our baby.
We paid for an ocean view, but Half of our view is blocked by plants so only a corner of our lanai sees the ocean. First time we splurged (normally do garden view) and so disappointing. Crib is also worn and creaky.
We used to always enjoy the lobby bar. Last night they brought a pizza truck. We ordered very very expensive cocktails and then was told by the server we couldn’t bring our pizza into the lobby because she would rather have someone order food (limited selection) from her. Yikes!
The service is still good overall. Lots of sweet gifts for the kids, complimentary diapers and sand toys. Very different from our last two visits where I felt we were treated so special. I know it’s a new Covid world, but for these prices, people should be safe, not packed, and better quality on food and room.
We leave tomorrow and this is the first time here I’m ready to get home. Just too crowded right now and not the same as visits past!
Serenity in Maui

This was my first stay at Four Seasons Wailea; I usually start at the Ritz in Kapalua. From arrival to departure, the talented staff made the high quality property even better. It seems that business is back and even up 30% over pre-covid. As busy as the Island and the Four Seasons was, you'd never know that with each interaction. I definitely will be back!
Excellent property with top notch service!

We stayed at four hotels/resorts during our 10 day Hawaii babymoon (across Oahu and Maui)- Four Seasons Maui came out right at the top. We were simply blown away by the beautiful property and the phenomenal service. It is very easy to differentiate the patrons as compared to other resorts - very sophisticated, well dressed and polite (including the children who were all so polite and greeted us all the time!). Celebrity sightings are considered commonplace here!
We were greeted with Leis and our bags were whisked away as were we checked in. We made our way to the concierge desk where all the the amenities and activities on offer were mapped out diligently. Did you know that a Peloton can be delivered to your room?!? Nice.
The concierge desk was very helpful in making reservations for us at the restaurants on site. We had an ocean facing room - beware, some of these can be long walk from the elevators.
We had dinner at Ferraros, their food especially the Foccacia bread and Chocolate tartufo are to die for.
The next morning we showed up at 7:20am for the serenity pool, at which point there were only about 5 spots left. We stayed there till about 3pm. The staff was very nice, they gave out water, sunscreen, and adjusted our umbrella as requested. We took a quick break to go get breakfast from Duo’s as well. The swimup bar at the pool opens at 10am. And they also have non-alcoholic beer on the menu.
Following our long pool day, we went by the beach during sunset, where we met their photo ambassador, Scott Miles for a quick maternity photoshoot. He blew us away! This is such a nice value-added service offering. In about 20 mins, he took tons of pics, gave us some pose ideas and also taught us how to edit the photos on our iPhone. We were so impressed, that we cancelled the professional photoshoot we had booked. Be sure to make an appointment with him prior to your trip, again arranged by the concierge.
We then watched the hula dancing and torch lighting ceremony. Dinner was at Duos, their Wagyu flat iron steak is so good!
We had a tour planned to watch the sunrise at Haleakala, with a 2:30am pickup. The front desk offered us coffee, tea, hot chocolate, snacks and blankets for our tour.
At the end of our stay, we got a complimentary shuttle car service ride to our next resort. Outstanding service! I can see why it is considered the premium property in Maui.

On our first real trip after covid, we came down to Maui and stayed at the Four Seasons for a week during over the second week of July. I usually do not write reviews online, but wanted to call out what was simply world class service at this hotel.
The grounds are beautiful. The room was great, and although a bit of a walk from the lobby, we appreciated being on the ground floor as we had our two young daughters with us. Even though the hotel was very busy, we were glad to have great seats at the pool every day. The beach is a few steps from the pool and when we went we swam with a gigantic turtle that appeared from nowhere. It was pretty nuts. Candidly however, any hotel set on a beach in Maui would be beautiful; what makes this hotel special are the staff.
Quite simply, there are very few places in the world that provide the outstanding service that we experienced. Every single staff person seemed genuinely happy to be there, greeted us with a smile, and tried hard to make us feel welcome. The housekeeping staff deserves an extra mention for the little gestures to our children, like sponges in their names, special treats waiting after the pool, and the outstanding service maintaining our room. The concierge managed to get us a Jeep for a day when there was a shortage on the island.
Maui is a magical place. This was my first trip to Hawaii and I hesitate to go back because I'm not sure it can be topped. If you are considering a trip to Maui, and have the good fortune to be able to book a room at the Four Seasons, take the advice from this stranger on the Internet and do it. You will not regret it.
Can’t get better

This hotel is hands down amazing.
it is truly a 5 star hotel.
The staff is kind and go out ofthe way for you.
You can tell that the staff enjoy their job and feel great job satisfaction. From check in to getting your car, to bring out at the pool, everyone has a smile and goes out of their way to make your experience one to remember.
Auntie Wendy was amazing. She is the cultural Hawaiian liaison. We did lei making and weaving with her. The experience was not just of making something, but the stories behind it. We are happy to call her our friend.
I can go on forever, but I say this is the nicest place to stay if in Maui. I would highly recommend.
I also recommend letting the concierge book your excursions and dinners. All of their recommendations are spot on.
The only negative is when you have to leave this perfect place.
Can’t wait to return.
Way to go four seasons.
