The Palms at Wailea, Maui

Reviewed 12 october, 2021

This was a lovely vacation for my family and I. Planning a trip during COVID was not easy and Maui or Hawaii in general was a VERY popular place to visit so I wanted to do it as safely as possible. I booked here so we would have the flexibility of a kitchen and washer/dryer and the space of not being cramped in a hotel. Having a busy toddler who is used to lots of space was a key part to this decision and it did not disappoint. The condo was very accommodating and having all the things we are used to at home but in a beautiful place like Maui was perfect. There is free parking on site but we did not rent a car. They were hot commodities so we took Ubers or walked where we could. The beach was an ~5 minute walk. The pool area was clean and quiet...I felt very safe sitting out or napping on the outdoor patio during the day. We made a few trips to the grocery store during our week-long stay but did not mind it too much. (Just FYI, because just about everything is imported; prices are significantly higher than mainland US.) The only negative were the critters that visited us during the stay...there were lots of spiders and lizards and 1 night my husband found a small snake in our bedroom. I was not thrilled but when I spoke to the concierge, they sent an exterminator out the next day and allowed us to check out at 3pm for our 7pm flight on our departure day. All in all, I would definitely return and likely stay at The Palms at Wailea again.

Don't make the mistake of staying here!

First I will start off by saying that the apartment/condo was very spacious. It did have a/c in master bedroom but that it all that was good. We stayed in 607. Ceiling fan in living room did NOT work at all. The interior and appliances are extremely dated although everything did work. Ragged old and falling apart beach chairs and a broken umbrella were in the lanai for use. The place had damage throughout. Chipped furniture. chipped tiles in kitchen. Dents in walls. The absolute worst thing was that my wife found a dying cockroach in the master bathroom a 2nd one in the kitchen also dying. We were completely grossed out. They also charge $360 cleaning fee which is clearly a fleecing since the place was not very clean when we arrived. This place is clearly of older people without kids as there were so many rules for the pool I didn't even take my kids. No noise no splashing no pool for kids. If I could rate it a 0 I would. Also when we checked in the guy at the desk informed me they would be an addition holding fee for incidentals. With a place so damaged I hope they don't keep any more of my money!! Do yourself a favor and stay in a hotel.

Extremely Noisy- Very Poor Security- Many items in the Condo did not work

Reviewed 2 july, 2021

I have stayed here previously and enjoyed it... 10+ years ago. What a difference. A lot of problems with the electricity in the units... couldn't charge phones, broken coffee maker, problems with fans... they don't tell you until you arrive that you can only have Air Conditioning in the master bedroom.. Very noisy.. called and complained. Security did nothing... It just got worse as time went on. Then there were the crazy people in the unit next door to us.... screaming at each other at night... Really bad. Looks good from the outside, but very poor management. Staff wouldn't help with anything... felt like we were bugging them. WILL NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN

Nice condo in Wailea

It was a nice place. Lots of room. Good kitchen. Minimal bugs. The one pool was nice, but can get crowded. Good location for Wailea and Kihei. It was a long walk for the beach. It was a long walk for coffee. It’s in Wailea, but it’s not a resort, That being said I’d stay here again.
