Constant construction noise

Reviewed 24 february, 2023

Do not stay here if you’re going to spend ANY time at all in the hotel during the day. The construction noise is incessant btwn 730am and 6pm (no matter that the signs say 9-5). The staff is kind about it, but it’s awful.

Terrible experience! Hotel is under renovation construction

Reviewed 11 february, 2023

I just completed a completely an an awful 4 night stay here. When I arrived I was told the hotel was being renovated and there would be “minor noise” during the hours of 8 am - 5 pm every day. The “minor noise” was a constant loud combination of jackhammer and dentist drill, making it impossible to work or make calls from the room. The hotel is definitely in need of renovation. The lobby is dated and rooms are passable but worn. There are No USB ports and the bathroom needed upgrading. On top of the noise the water was shut off one day from 9 am - 4 pm and the absolute worst was that the elevator was out of order for several hours on two of the days I was there. I had to walk up and down to the seventh floor multiple times in suit and tie during my stay. People couldn’t bring their luggage down or up and I can’t imagine what was done for handicapped guests. The bottom line is that this hotel needs renovation, but they should be completely closed down while it occurs, which I was told will be 10 months or more. The only saving grace is the staff wqs courteous and apologetic. Joe the bellman is awesome, and the hotel manager understood my concerns and gave me extra Marriott points as a gesture of apology. But the bottom line is there are dozens of hotels in this area of DC, and I will not be staying here again until the hotel constitution has been completed. This is unacceptable for a Marriott hotel of this caliber.

Great Marriott in the heart of downtown DC

Reviewed 18 january, 2023

A skip and a hop to Metro Center, this hotel is a fantastic choice for those visiting downtown DC on work or personal business. A special shoutout goes to the checkin staff the morning of Jan 12, as well as the Concierge Lounge attendant. Both staff members went out of their way to provide for guest needs and are a credit to this hotel. If I had to nitpick, I'd say that the bathrooms are perfectly functional & clean, but would benefit from renovation.

Decent DC Stay

Reviewed 20 december, 2022

Definitely one of the key attractions of this hotel is it’s access to the Metro, located right at the Metro Center station. The property is large, with the room sizeable and comfortable. The staff was extremely friendly throughout my stay. My biggest complaint is the large shampoo/soap/etc. on the shower wall. I know this is an industry trend, but I don’t like it at all, especially the soap. For DC, not a bad stay.

Danger! Your property may be crashed or stolen

Reviewed 7 december, 2022

The service in this hotel the same! Rooms housekeeping are not on good level. Check (took a foto, fixing on desk) every your property, because it may be stolen or crashed from service or by h/keeper. Nobody try to support you, just may be says "sorry". And hotel is expensive, without breakfast.
