I am typing this review fresh as I just spent 2 totally sleepless nights at this No tell party hotel. First night, 3 am a couple comes back to their room right beside ours screaming and fighting and slamming doors for HOURS, I called the front desk 3 times and the useless night clerk did nothing.Night #2 the opposite side of my room had a Halloween party start at 11pm. Called the same useless night clerk. Said he came up and heard nothing. Finally at 3 am I went down and had the clerk follow me to the room. After he talked to the partiers they laughed at him and the party cranked up. I finally call the police at 3:30am and 3 squad cars come, yet the night clerk doesn’t send them up to the party room and the police leave while the party continued. Unbelievable. It is 7:45 am and I haven’t slept in two days and I am writing this from the airport.

My experience with this hotel was very frustrating. I was transferred to a hotel agent when I called to book the stay. I was given incomplete information. I was not told there would be a "facilities fee" of $28+ per night for internet access, access to exercise room and for international calls, even if none of these were accessed. I was told of a valet parking fee but was not told that I would not have access to the garage and no access to my car between 11:00 PM and 6:30 AM due to lack of staff. Had I known about these issues, I would have booked elsewhere. When I arrived at the hotel, I was told that they didn't have my reservation, which I never cancelled, but the staff member was very helpful and, to my relief, found a room. However, the room was very small, there was no refrigerator which was needed to store medication, the bathroom wall paper was peeling and we were unable to set the room temperature. Staff came through and found me a serviceable refrigerator. There was only one working elevator and the overall hotel appearance, despite a supposed renovation, was certainly not one of a premier luxury hotel promised on the hotel web site. I honestly don't know how this hotel received a 4 star rating. The only positive about this stay was the professionalism and helpfulness of the staff who made the stay more bearable. However, due to the inability of management to provide accurate and timely information as well the promised hotel experience, we will not return!

The staff was welcoming and extremely helpful. The room was clean, brightly lit and comfortable. My husband made use of the gym on the premises and was very impressed. When I return today DC I will definitely stay there again.

My family was cautiously optimistic about our first post-pandemic stay(cation). Despite the negative reviews, we had such an enjoyable stay at the Beacon. Right in the middle of D.C. the hotel had well-kept, clean and spacious rooms. The front desk attendant Raul deserves mention. It appeared that the hotel was single-staffed but he made sure that we were taken care of. From check-in to valet service to directing us to where we could get a Dr. Pepper for my youngest son, we couldn't have asked for better customer service. The facility did seem a bit outdated compared to the newer more modern hotels in the area, but you can't replace top-tier customer service like we received at the Beacon.

I rarely leave reviews but feel the need to comment on the excellent customer service I received at the Beacon Hotel. Since I travel for work, I've been to a number of hotels in the DMV area. I arrived rather late and the hotel I usually stay at was fully booked. Thankfully, I was able to reserve a room at the Beacon. Unfortunately, I was unable to catch the name of the front desk who was extremely accommodating and patient provided it was pretty busy. The fact that he was a Spanish speaker was a plus and made check-in a breeze. He truly went over and beyond to make sure guests were taken care of. The rooms were clean and comfortable with a beautiful view of Dupont Circle. I will be staying at the Beacon whenever I get the chance to and would highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting DC.
