I loved waking up in my room.

Reviewed 23 february, 2023

I loved waking up in my room. I loved falling asleep in my room on the 10th floor. The linens are crisp & there's nothing like the comfort of the Marriott Brand pillows. The decor was elegant and the staff friendly. I walked up to 6th Street on H Street NW, turned left, and within minutes found myself at the otherworldly National Gallery in the midst of master painters and sculptures. As I left the museum, I said to security: "Thank you for one of the best memories of my life." The National Archives building is adjacent to the building. Many other magnificent buildings line Constitution Avenue, so walking the boulevard is well worth the time. The Metro train is easy to navigate, once locals help you get the gist of it. Locals are helpful as the staff. I took the Metro from the airport to the hotel and vice-versa via the Silverline and saved $50 for what Uber would have charged, but Uber is reasonable in town, i.e., cost only $12 from the hotel to Lincoln Memorial Square. The breakfast is diverse and worth the cost unless e.g., soccer tournaments of giddy teenagers aren't at the hotel. They swarmed the breakfast and lobby most of the time, so I didn't eat there accept for one morning. The chef, I believe his name is Deon, went out of his way for guests. Walmart was also within walking distance & easy to find with a directions app or online.

Great value and location

Reviewed 17 february, 2023

My family stayed one night and would definitely stay again. The lobby is attractive and all public spaces were very clean and well-kept. The staff was fantastic and eager to help guests and exceed expectations. The breakfast crew, Deon in particular, really went above and beyond - and the breakfast was fantastic. I’ve had more hotel breakfasts than I can count and this was up there, with multiple yogurt options, oatmeal with a variety of toppings, fresh eggs and meat, breakfast burritos with three different salsas and shredded cheese on the side, two kinds of bagels that were actually decent bagels and not bagel-shaped bread, I could go on. The eating area was meticulously maintained and the food was refreshed continuously. Tons of praise to the front desk as well, Tracy was friendly and helped when I left items in the room after checkout. Our room was quiet, clean and comfortable. The fitness center was also decent, with several free weights, kettlebells and medicine balls and machines that were fairly up to date. It was also super clean, which is very appreciated. Location was walkable to the sights, the arena and several restaurants. I felt like a valued Bonvoy member, and had a great stay.

HORRIBLE STAY!

Reviewed 26 january, 2023

Please do not go here honestly not worth it. They charge you almost 60 a night to park your car not even your choice and they gave us a mini fridge and had over 100 in food and it went out and all they could say is will give you points but honestly I'm never going here again I'd rather stay at any other hotel than this one. Complimentary breakfast was Jimmy Dean sandwiches waffles cereal oats. When my husband and I arrived to a dirty bathroom hair all over the shower. No Complimentary shampoo and body wash. Waited 1 hr to get my car the first night. A beaten up mini fridge was rolled up to our room. Wifi could be better we couldn't use the wifi most our trip. I honestly can't put into words how disappointed I am in this stay I signed up for loyalty here thinking it was a Marriott and it would be good but as soon as we arrived that quickly changed.

Place has some serious issues to address

Reviewed 23 january, 2023

Stayed here one night to go to a Wizards game at Capital One. Location is great for that purpose, easy walking to and from. Customer service at front desk was great, and the cleaning lady was a sweetheart. Two major issues: 1) there was zero hot water available for a shower in the morning, and 2) the door to adjoining room was paper thin, makes you feel like you're sharing the space with another couple/family. I'd read about the water issue before, but assumed it was exaggerated. Nope. If you stay here, be sure to take a shower at night (when others aren't), or you can forget about any hot water. Pretty ridiculous for that issue to not be addressed. The second one was terrible, as well. I thought there were employees talking overly loud in the hallway all morning before realizing it was just a very poorly insulated door separating our room from the one beside it. Never experienced that before at another hotel, so feels like there must be an easy fix there, as well. Got a cheap rate, so not sure what to expect, but didn't expect this from a hotel that is generally rated a 4 of 5 on most sites. Do better, guys.
