So since we travel to Wellington frequently and usually stay at the Sofitel or Intercontinental I thought I would try the Doubletree since I like the design of the Queenstown property. Well it has a good location and room size. Hallways have interesting artwork but overall missing the wow factor but it was not expected being a junior line to the Hilton. Reception staff was welcoming friendly and helpful. No valet at this time which is super annoying when traveling on business. No cookies were given at reception or placed in the rooms which I thought was a Double tree staple. Late check at 2pm made up for it though. This being our first time I didn’t realize that the rooms facing the Neighboring building are gloomy being deprived of natural light so make sure you avoid those when booking. Good standard bathroom with walk-in rain shower but when we stayed there no bathrobes which we had to ask for, it was a bit disappointing. Beds were comfy although too soft for my liking. A positive thing to point out was the TV screen size, my guess around the 48”- 50” mark and usb power outlets to each side of the bed, well designed in the correct height. The entire place feels a bit claustrophobic horizontally. I would have designed the room layouts different and put more effort in the ceiling design to counter the krass negative space, however overall an interesting decor a bit great gatsby maybe. If that’s your vibe this is for you. Breakfast was chaotic, disorganized rushed and for some parts sub standard such as stale chocolate muffins for example. Maybe it was new staff but we were not the only guests that were underwhelmed that morning. Overall I would say it’s good if you don’t have a car and want something that’s better than economy. Otherwise I’d probably opt for some of the other upscale hotels.
Will never go anywhere else!

Everything about our stay was great! We booked the day before, prices were very fair. When we checked in (arrived early and they still accommodated us) we were offered an upgrade for a minimal charge which was awesome! Hotel bar happy hour cocktails were perfect (great price too!). Warm cookie upon check in was delicious! Couldn’t get a better location! This is the only place we will stay when we go back to Wellington :)
A place to relax and enjoy in the middle of the city

ThankYou Dan for looking after me as I arrived tired and flustered. Dan changed my room for me for a small excess and I loved it. I also loved the breakfast though the service was very slow despite not being busy. The bar was exceptional because of a fabulous barman who made the best ever cocktails! He listened to what we wanted and the cocktails were spot on! All in all a great experience ! Jessica deserves a mention too as she is charming and Yuri was very accomodating.
Fix your aircon!

Positives: * Great central location * Helpful and courteous team - the highlight of our stay * Gorgeous rooms - well laid out - beautiful light fixtures - comfy beds and pillows Negatives: * Please sort our your aircon. Room was incredibly hot and stuffy - we had to continually turn the aircon on and ‘program’ it to a cool 18 degrees MULTIPLE times EACH DAY - especially at night. It did not make for a restful sleep. This has been the worst aircon setup I’ve encountered thus far in any hotel I’ve ever stayed at. * When using Hilton Honours to check in online and choose your room, it would be helpful to annotate which rooms are accessible and which are not. Also, the digital key never worked - not a good look for the brand. Overall - would I stay again? Unless you can sort our your aircon - then no.
Excellent location & lovely hotel

Excellent central location and our room was spacious. We found it quiet overnight too. We had room service dinner & it was excellent. Parking was in an adjoining carparking building that cost $45. Great service by all staff. The only negative was the mattress is due for replacement.
