Comfortable and great staff

The pros: my room was big and comfortable. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. The location is a 15 minute walk to the gay bars of West Hollywood . The cons: I couldn’t find the entrance because of construction. The only exit is a steep walk up a driveway. The walls are a little thin. The bathroom was very small but the shower was big.
Perfect place to stay on the Sunset Strip!

In a nutshell, the staff contributed greatly to my stay at the Grafton on Sunset! From the moment I pulled in with my rental car to the valet station on Oct. 12th, I was treated like a rock star! Bernard, the valet attendant extraordinaire, was so friendly and helpful! He greeted me with a big smile and insisted on helping me with my luggage. I was on my way to checking in within a couple of minutes. Loui at the front desk was equally as lovely, asking me how my day was and assisting me with the most hospitable demeanor. I should add that I looked a mess (au naturale, since I had been driving for hours in my comfy clothing). Loui directed me to my room and reiterated to let them know if there was anything that I needed to make my stay more enjoyable. I entered my beautiful room and instantly felt at ease. The decorations, bed, and sitting area were AWESOME! As I passed the front desk before heading out for the night, I told Loui I had forgotten my eyeliner and got the greatest tip on how to remedy my forgetfulness with what I did have with me. I was also told of a great little upscale convenience market where I could purchase some beer since the bar and restaurant were shutdown due to Covid precautions. The following day, I awoke early and had the pleasure of meeting Xavier. He was working alone at the front desk, managing to assist people with checking out and making sure others could get their pastries and coffee. He was so kind and helpful. Bernard had my key ready to retrieve my car before I made it to the valet station! It felt so nice to be remembered. It was really a pleasure to be treated so warmly by all three of the wonderful staff people I met during my stay. I have stayed at the Grafton on Sunset a few times over the years, but I must say that Bernard, Loui, and Xavier proved to be exceptional employees who really go above and beyond to make a guest feel welcome and important. I look forward to returning again and hopefully seeing the three of them again! Five stars to the Grafton!
Under construction- call ahead.

When we pulled up outside the hotel there was obvious construction and it looked deserted, no signage. We phoned and no answer. We thought we had been had. Luckily our cab driver found a letter sized paper on one of the windows that said to go to the back parking lot. Once we were in the hotel things are reasonably hotel like. The drawbacks are this: the CONTINENTAL breakfast is served around the pool, don’t expect the warm breakfast served at the lounge as advertised. To get into the hotel you have to walk down the steep hill (in hills too? smh) of the parking lot entrance dodging cars. Did management not think to allow a street side pedestrian entrance during construction? They could at least throw up a plastic Jersey barrier to protect pedestrians from the cars. As an added bonus the Marathon runs right down the street. Which means getting anywhere on Sunday will be hectic. The front desk neglected to advise us of the marathon/ street closure. Good luck to all the guests who have cars stuck in the parking lot. Luckily we got the heads up from a local. My advice is call ahead, if they pick up the phone, ask if construction is finished. I expect a construction discount to be offered on my checkout tomorrow!

First class staff at the Grafton on Sunset. Xavier was extremely welcoming and accommodating. Attention was paid to every detail of our reservation. The room had a beautiful view of the pool and was extremely clean. Walking distance to restaurants and bars like the Viper Room, Rainbow Bar & Grill, and Whiskey-a-Go-Go. Valet attendants were friendly and professional. Overall we had a great stay!

We came for the awesome salt water pool and had a great day with the kids. Austin checked is in and was especially kind and acomodating. The room was great, and did I mention the salt water pool?! Plenty of seating and very quiet, certainly a relaxing day. Thank you so much Grafton, we will stay again soon.
