Excellent stay
Just had a wonderful couple of nights here, staff did all they could despite the difficult situation. A big thank you to all the staff especially Nicky and Chrisie. Lady who checked us in was very professional and accommodating. We will be back. Thank you.
Family getaway at Laura Ashley Iliffe
First i want to say that everything was great and we really enjoyed our stay. If there was anything we had issues with it was promptly rectified. Staff was very helpful and efficient. We booked deluxe room for 2 adults and small child with extra bed which wasnt too uncomfortable fairly okay at least thats what my husband said. Room had nice king bed which had little dip in the middle of the mattress however after asking receptionist if the mattress could be turned over next day it was done without issues and bed was comfortable. Room itself was large with nice bathroom and great hot shower. We added extra night but only superior room was available, so thanks to receptionist who advised us about room 12 which is larger superior room we booked another night and were able to have an extra bed in that room too. Little downside is noise from the road and no radiator in the bathroom which was cold. Room was cold too but we asked for heater and that was sorted and radiator was brought to us. I have read lot of reviews about superior rooms having a small beds however i have to say that room 12 has very big super king bed, in fact bigger than we had in Deluxe room which was king size bed so bed wise we were very happy. Pillow menu is nice touch too. Food was delicious and very tasty, good breakfast, also cocktails were very nice. Bar is very cosy, enjoyed having couple of drinks there. Beautiful entrance in a lobby and beautiful furnishings throughout hotel. Coventry city is only short drive away. We enjoyed our stay very much and want to thank staff for a great stay.
Laura Ashley Hotel The Iliffe
We stayed here as a family group. The hotel is very attractive, the entrance and reception/bar area are absolutely lovely and overall we found the staff very attentive. Some of our party found their rooms to be very small indeed, all of us found our rooms to be very cold, but that is to be expected in such an old building and they do provide plug in heaters if you don't mind using them. One of our rooms had no telephone service, another had no power supply to the wall sockets, in one room the tv was at a complete right angle to the bed and not easy to watch at all. Our bathroom, although there was a large obscured glass window, there was no blind at it, so it was a little bit uncomfortable using the bathroom. All of us found our beds to be hard. Despite all of this the rooms were nicely decorated of course, and they were spotlessly clean. Breakfast seemed like an expensive affair, so we passed it up and went elsewhere. It's a shame Trip Advisor don't have a 'good' rating as we can't go far enough to say it's a very good hotel, but it is better than average for sure.
Wedding
What can we say but absolutely fantastic. We had a small socially distanced wedding on 10th October. It was everything we wanted it to be and a lot more thanks to this fantastic hotel and there totally amazing staff. The venue was idyllic just perfect for a wedding. From start to finish just perfect thanks to an amazing wedding planner Nicola you are a total star, nothing was too much trouble accommodating the groomzilla with all his spread sheets 😊of course we couldn’t have done it without the General Manager Chris thank you. As for the staff what a bunch of amazing people the hotel is so lucky to have you all a special thank you to Sophie who although had to postpone her own wedding she was an inspiration to us both (a wedding planner in the making). The food was amazing every single guest was absolutely well catered for. The accommodation was second to none extra comfortable beds beautiful decor and a good size. I could go on for hours about how amazing this hotel and its staff are. Once again thank you all for a totally memorable day. All our love and best wishes Mr & Mrs Weeks 😊
Laura Ashley Luxury
Came here to celebrate my partners 50th birthday. What a hidden gem The Iliffe is, from the fantastic surroundings to the very attentive staff you could not wish for better. I'd spent the previous week in an email conversation with the Very helpful Chrissy to arrange the afternoon tea and other extras, when we arrived Chrissy was on reception and my word she was on top of everything from sorting us out with the tea to keeping us updated with room being ready and getting us an afternoon drink sorted from the bar. We were led into the Willows restaurant where Sarah started to look after us ( and sort drinks from the bar, by the way she is fantastic at making cocktails) My partner absolutely loves afternoon tea, myself, I'm a bit of a take it or leave it bloke rather leave it to be fair, but I really really enjoyed this afternoon tea the cakes are all made by the chef on site so the scones were still warm, and the cakes had that just made taste. After the tea we had a drink in the bar where Sarah made my partners first cocktail and Chrissy came to us to tell us the room was ready. We stayed in the Laura Ashley Suite, my partner well she was absolutely blown away, it just ticked all of the boxes, four poster bed, dressing gowns, fizz in the room with gorgeous glasses, chocolates, she loved it. We went back to the Willows for our evening meal, with the knowledgeable and friendly Abigail looking after us, ham hock terrine, rump steak cooked to perfection and panacotta for dessert, then a final nightcap served to us by Sarah, then a very restful night. We will definitely be returning here again, feel very chilled and very well looked after, good staff make a hotel, and a huge difference to your experience, the staff at the Iliffe gave fantastic customer service and then eclipsed it. Thank you Chrissy, Sarah, Abigail and all the staff that we never got to learn your names for a Truly Fantastic stay.
