My stay at Hawthorn Suites-Palm Beach Lakes location by RED

After two years without travelling, it was a pleasure to stay once again at Hawthorn suites at the Palm Beach Lakes location in West Palm Beach. Although there were som changes in management, it was great to see that the hotel maintained the excellent service and friendly staff. The facility continue to be well kept. The location is perfect, with walking distance to the popular Palm Beach Lakes Mall, Best Buy and Brands Mart. My family will continue to stay at Hawthorn Suites whenever we travel from the Bahamas to Florida.

All of the staff were friendly and professional. The breakfast offered variety and coffee was available all day. The check in and check out were timely and I was given the room I requested. The room was very clean and I would recommend this hotel.
It's fine for the price.

*Wish they offered more than 1 option for the hot plate during breakfast. *Should offer complimentary bottles of water in the mornings. *Rooms are outdated (late 70s early 80s vibes) *WiFi needs improvement (Intermittent speeds and sometimes crashes)
We had a mostly good stay

I'll just get the bad parts out of the way. We reserved our room almost 3 months ago for 6 nights through Wyndham. When we got there after 25 hours of driving, we were told we didn't have a room. We had booked a king suite, but had to be put up in a double queen. The lady who was taking care of us was extremely nice and very apologetic. She originally went and spoke to another worker because she wanted to put us in the presidential suite due to us having booked so long ago, and I'm a gold member. The other lady said "we just had a meeting about that and we can't do it unless they pay extra for it" so we get up to the room we have to be in that night, and I have to call for sheets because the sheets have glitter and some unidentified substance.... Stuck, to the sheets. We then had to move all of out stuff to a king suite the next day. Now on the good! All the workers were very nice, lobby, outside is kept pristine, and aside from the sheet situation in the double queen, everything was spotless! They have nice little kitchenettes with full sized refrigerators and a dishwasher, two burner stoves, microwave, dishes, some cooking utensils, etc. The breakfast was about as good as you can ask for during an ongoing pandemic! They still have a pretty decent selection and premade portions of hot food, along with the usual cereals, bread, bagels, and fruits.
2 night stay, never to return

Let me start off by saying that room is clean and spacious. The staff has been pleasant and helpful. The hotel reminds me a nursing home. Smells horrible, interior is very outdated. The "breakfast" was cold mini waffles served in plastic wrap. I've stayed at many hotels since Covid started, everyone else is done with these bagged to-go breakfast options. This hotel needs to try to get back to normal also. The coffee was tepid. Had to warm it up in my room. Wi-fi is nonexsistant, no shampoo, conditioner, lotion. I think the worst part was the shower. No water pressure, didn't get hot enough and the faucet was aimed at the back wall and wasn't adjustable. Maybe if I were 6'5" it would have been fine. Follow that shower up with a cruchy towel for a horrible experience.
