Room mediocre at best/Rude desk clerk
Reviewed 15 August, 2021
When researching my motel of choice, I saw several reviews that this place was dirty. My bathtub was a bit dirty and room looked a bit old, but was not terrible. However, you expect your room to be clean upon checkin.
Customer service is sorely lacking though
The main entrance was closed and had a sign directing to me to another door. That door was locked. Not very welcoming to guests.
My biggest issue was the next morning. My toilet had broken and would not flush, so I went to the front desk. The crotchety old woman would not even look up until I said good morning. Even then, it was like I was bothering her for interrupting her work. When I told her about the toilet, she said she would let maintenance know. Then a couple seconds later, she told me that if I "need to use the commode", I'd need to use their plunger.
I told her that I am paying a for a fully night's rate, I should not have to perform my own maintenance. She snapped back that "There's nothing I can do" because the maintenance person was not there. This was during working hours about 8:30 AM, not like it was 3AM. I then told her to give me a key to unoccupied room since the restroom in the hallway was also Out of Order (great maintenance smh). Clearly upset, she handed me a key and didn't say anything other than "I need it back" ASAP. When I entered the room, I saw that it was clearly used. I was hoping that someone had just checked out and that no one would re-enter. No one did, but the room obviously had not been cleaned/sanitized so that added to the issue.
When I finally checked out, she did not even look up or speak to me.
I don't want to imply that all employees are like her ( the young man that checked me in the night before was friendly), but I'd be willing to bet that she has been rude to others since she was to me before I had even said a word to her.
As for the 2 key system, on one hand I like the added security (makes me wonder if there have been issues in the past?), but it became a hassle when the outside door key would struggle to work. I had to play & turn it several times.
Room itself was mediocre, but definitely not a place I'd like to stay again.

You have to ring a buzzer to even enter the hotel. There is a strange 2 key system where one key unlocks the outside door and another your room. Carpet was stained and room needs maintenance done. The tub controls were difficult to operate. Bath was small and needs work done on it. No breakfast at all and not even a coffee maker in room. Other than an economical rate and easy access to interstate, I can't recommend this place.
Good price for a home game weekend

Was in Morgantown for the football game and was happy to find a room that I wasn't paying an arm & leg for. It was good for what we were there for but nothing fancy. Facilities could use some updating and the hallway smelled like stale cigarette smoke.
There is a complimentary breakfast but it's mostly just pastries and cereal with a waffle machine.
Refrigerator and microwave in room

One of the best amenities is the fact that there is a refrigerator and microwave in the room.
Front desk staff was friendly and helpful.
Our room had 2 double beds (each with 3 pillows) and a night stand in between with 3 open outlets for chargers. Flat screen tv in entertainment center, table with 2 chairs, luggage stand, iron and ironing board and a safe. Bathroom had extra towels, soap, lotion, shampoo & conditioner.
The bed was too soft for my liking but everyone feels differently about that. Furniture and carpet are old but everything is adequate.
Breakfast included 3 choices of cold cereal, make your own hot waffles, muffins, bread for toast, 2 juices, coffee.

Had numerous family members there, very clean and nice. Have stayed there many times also for visits. My brothers use this place when they come to town. Can't say enough good about it. Love to stay there whenever possible.
