Arrived around 3, and room was ready. Location is off of several freeways, and not too far of a drive to downtown. The woman at the desk was new, but she was clearly learning at a fast pace as she checked me in quickly. Room is nothing special, typical HIE. Didn’t do much other than sleep, shower in the morning, and have breakfast.
The good & the Bad

Good: Clean room, comfortable bed, cool room. Hot shower. Good 42” TV. Bad: no soap at bathroom sink. No ice on floor 3(Out of Order sign old) no directions on where to find ice. Looked on first floor found no machine. Reception desk was very impersonal. Very few words. Did not feel welcomed. Breakfast: photos online looked great. Eggs looked and were bland. Sausage patties no flavor. Cinnamon rolls were good and fresh. Large TV in breakfast area remote would not work. Batteries? Disappointed! Summary: Need a $146 room to be comfortable and safe this hotel hits the mark. Would not take my wife here.
Poor customer service and no soap

You know that moment when you walk in and there are two employees and you wait to see which one is available? Well then they look at you and nothing...you wait...nothing. Finally you take a few steps forward and one looks at you and says 'Do you have a reservation?" The same person has her daughter at work with her. Which is a fantastic idea if you can still do your job and talk to your customers. This employee said about 1000 words to the daughter and 4 to the customer. Room was not ready at 6:20 at night. "We are short staffed" Once in the room it was quite nice but no hand soap. Walked to front desk...no one there. Everyone was out front. I asked for soap. " We don't have soap." Another customer outside said they are using the pump shampoo on the wall of the shower. Is the room nice : Yes and quite spacious Is the hotel secure: no side door to dumpster left ajar all night Is the hotel in a nice area: no Is the front desk friendly: no (as we are waiting on our room they offered another customer a $35.00 night if they would take a King with a pull out) Again no bar soap to wash your hands!
Love my Holiday Inn Express

Anytime I travel on a whim, I always know I can count on HIE. I had to attend a funeral for a dear friend & was happy to see the hotel was near Haysville. Suzie at the check-in desk was so friendly & accomodating. She gave me a great deal on a room with compassion & understanding. Hotel was convenient to restaurants, grocery & the highway. It was so quiet. I was concerned since I could hear the toll booth noise in the parking lot but inside it was wonderful. Other than some 20 yr old girls running in the hall several times until 10:30 or so, it was very quiet. Bed was like a cloud. Everything was spotless, cleaning staff must be well trained. Breakfast room was wonderful as always. Had no surprises. This is a well managed hotel & I really appreciated the care.
Great place to stay

We had a great stay. Great location and easy to find, especially if you are coming in from the south. Room was nice and clean. Bed was comfy. Breakfast was good. Friendly staff. Plenty of parking, parking lot is well lit.
