Very Nice but noisy guests above

The property and rooms are really nice. I just can’t understand why they put guests with kids on the fourth level. It sounded like a heard of cattle all night long. My goodness and they started again early in the morning. If I return here I’m definitely not staying on a lower level. Maybe they should tell guests to be mindful of each other, not everyone comes here to party.
Nice place but pools are too small

Stayed in a one-bedroom unit which was very nice and good size for family of 3. Bathroom layout was a little awkward with the 2nd door being right against the toilet. Both pools at this resort are too small for the amount of guests and were quite crowded in the evening. Bowling was fun and the "happy hour" between 4-6pm was great. Big shout out to the staff that handle the little cafe and bowling!
Warning- this is a timeshare so they will want to give you the sales pitch.
Excellent Family Vacation!

My wife and I visited this resort for a week in late July with our family, which includes 2 very active young boys. All in all, we were impressed with the entire stay. Everyone, especially the boys, enjoyed the pool and play areas; the room was very nice (overlooking the pool area), very clean with an impressive amount of bedroom, bathroom, living area and kitchen space (including all of the standard kitchen necessities). The staff was very friendly and helpful. The resort is located within easy driving distance to all of the Williamsburg attractions; for your dining needs there are many restaurants and a very nice Harris Teeter grocery store close by. We have two suggestions for management to consider: a few benches near the play area and miniature golf course would be helpful; also the resort could benefit from a few gas grills, which are usually found at most resorts. We would definitely return to, and recommend, this location!
The good was very good, but ...

Was it our mistake to consider this a Holiday Inn (IHG) property that welcomes travelers for a one-night stay? True, we were met and checked-in by friendly and accommodating staff; our room(s) were spacious, clean, comfortable seating (couch and chairs); the bed was most comfortable; kitchen and bathroom were clean and with all provisions.
But there were frustrating negatives. Signage (or lack of same) was confusing and unwelcoming. Buildings were numbered, but the numbers were not prominent and some partially obscured by trees. Elevators were numbered with two floors per button (1-2, 2-3, etc). On arrival, we first exited at the wrong 2. Range of room numbers should be posted near elevators, pointing directions. We walked with luggage in exploratory directions before finding the right corridor. Rooms are numbered with extra digits that employees learn, but are confusing to those arriving.
Then there are a couple of the standard amenities common to all IHG properties (and this is one of six we visited in current travel). The TVs (yes, there were two) were small, very small, the smallest and cheapest we've seen in IHG properties. Ice? Sorry, no ice machines available. Call for a bag of ice to be delivered from the cafe -- and wait.
Summary? It's an impressive facility in so many ways; obviously catering to timeshare owners or prospects (although sale was not pushy), but for an overnight Holiday Inn stop (as in a traveling Priority Club member), its inconveniences suggest that a Holiday Inn Express might be preferable.
