The George Inn

Visited for drinks , first impression was Sara was very friendly and inviting , she recommended our next visit to stay in the hotel which we would . The whole experience was very positive because of this server as she was very friendly upbeat and professional , we would consider staying next time and would certainly visit again

I’m a local and I love the George, we often come here for a quick drink after work. It’s a great little pub and the service is fabulous, but I have to specially mention Sara. She is so bubbly, helpful and friendly - nothing is too much trouble for her. Thanks Sara! We will keep coming back for sure.

Was in a twin room for one night prior to departure from Heathrow. The room was on floor 1 directly above the pub, so very noisy till 11 which is to be expected. I could have overlooked that, but the mattress was terrible - springs poking into my back. Also, thin walls meant I could hear the guy in the room next to me snoring... felt like I had a bedfellow. I think I got an hour of sleep max. The pub and staff were lovely, and I would return for the food, and might be open to trying a double room based on other reviews... just not that twin room.

Stayed at this lovely hotel for a couple of nights on a business trip. Cosy, comfortable rooms with everything you need for your stay. Staff can't do enough for you and are very down to earth and knowledgeable about the area. I had dinner in the pub below on one of the evenings and the food was excellent and well presented. Great range of local beers too, made just over the bridge I'm told! 2 perfect nights sleep, will definitely be back, especially as they do affordable corporate rates!

Only seems to be listed as Hotel but this is review of pub/restaurant. A few people inside when we arrived. One girl taking payment from a couple of nearby tables made no attempt to greet us or say I'll be over in a minute. She went off and never saw her again for half an hour or more. No-one behind bar either. After studying menu I went to investigate what beers were on offer. As I went back to table a guy appeared - thought he was a customer but he asked us if we wanted a drink. Took an age to return with one pint and a coffee despite no-one else appearing to order anything. Then he took our order for food (1st choice run out despite being 5% full of customers). Again food took an age to arrive and although I heard one other order taken behind us I don't know whether they got served before us or not. About an hour passed by now and the girl had reappeared to finish clearing the tables vacated much earlier. Had to go to bar to pay and somehow two drinks from another order ended up on our bill initially. Food and beer were OK when they arrived so scoring the average of 4 for that and nil for service, Can't begin to imagine what it must be like in summer with loads of people outside as well as in.
