Happy stay for one and half month!

I stayed in this hotel for 5 days at first, and I felt happy with their service, so I extended my stay for one and half months. John gave me a lot of help during my stay. He always greeted the people who stayed in the hotel whenever he saw the people in and out, which made me feel warm. The staffs working in this hotel are quite nice. Whenever I had any request, they would like to help me. Coffee, Tea, and hot water were available for the whole day. Access to the highway is nearby. There are quite a lot of restaurants and shopping malls around the hotel area. In one world, this hotel is like my second home. I will stay here again whenever I come back to north Boston.

Wonderful Stay

Staff was very friendly, nice, accommodating. Was able to do a early check and was not charged extra. The free full breakfast saved a lot of money . Hotel was very clean they are restaurants and shops close by . Salem is about 1/2 hour away easy access to highways . Pricing was very reasonable. Would defiantly stay here again.

I stayed at this hotel in August and again in October. This review is a combination of both visits. August: This hotel is a mix; nice shower room but a tiny sink outside the shower room. The tub was extremely slow to drain but the shower head was nice. The pump bottle of soap was empty in the shower but the towels were soft. The carpet was sorta warped on the floor but the room temperature control system worked really well. The bedding was wonderful but the desk chair was low to the floor with no adjustment, I sat in the chair on 2 pillows. The wi-fi was year 2000 stability, difficult to work on-line under wi-fi drop out conditions. October: Light switch inside the door. First, the switch was 5 feet into the room and that switch turned on the light over the bathroom sink. That was it, only that light. I then turned on all the lights in the room and tried the front door switch again and the only light that changed…. was the light over the sink. This is just poor design. Again, the desk chair was not adjustable and too low for my 5’10” frame. Wi-Fi was better this time. Bed was comfortable but definitely saggier than the room I had in August though the floor carpet was in better shape. The fitness room was fine, I used the treadmill. Drinking Water and cleaning wipes were in the fitness room. I like the bathroom sink being outside of the toilet/shower room. Shower worked fine this time, toilet was very noisy when it flushed. The hot tub was empty under the excuse of COVID but it looked a wreck and my guess is it did not work. Breakfast was typical with eggs, sausage, pancake maker?!?, toast, oatmeal. I did not have any issue with noise though I-95 is in the backyard of the hotel.

So we have expectations when staying at a Holiday Inn Express. This one broke them all. First - the cable TV was broke so no TV! They made up an excuse about needing “parts” to fix it. Second - no hair dryer. The staff searched five rooms to find one for us. Third - the hand soap were tiny little slivers in tiny little packages. Perfect for kindergartners… but not adults. Forth - towels were lacking and we had to ask to for them as well as for a bath matt. The room was clean… so was the bathroom… but after a long day on the road no TV, and we had to wait for towels before using the shower.

I came to Boston for work at the last moment. John D got me a room, was very pleasant about it, and continues to help me when I need things. He is in my opinion, their best asset! The room is clean, updated, and comfortable.
