Beautiful view, very relaxing
Beautiful location on the lake. I stayed here with my husband for a date night. We really enjoyed the kayak, the hot tub, and the beautiful view. The cottage also has a great library and it's so relaxing to pick up a book and read it right next to the lake. The cottage has many small details like bathrobes, etc that make it very special. Would definitely recommend staying here.
A wonderful getaway from last fall
My wife and I found this bed and breakfast on this website for a visit up here to see my daughter last November. We were not disappointed. The couple who live there and run the place couldn't have been nicer or more accommodating. We had privacy when we wanted and chatted with them about the area, about their music, my wife's photography (she let them use of her photos for their cd), and sight-seeing ideas. They brought us delicious breakfasts every morning. The cottage is set right on the lake. The resulting view is inspiring in the mornings. Our accommodations were below and at the rear of the cottage, facing the lake, with a bedroom, sitting room, and private bath. The rooms were warm and cozy. A hot tub sits immediately outside. The cottage was both convenient to visit my daughter, who lived in a nearby town, and to drive into Seattle. We would happily stay here again and urge others to stay here too!
Don't pass this one by
We happened upon Cottage Lake B&B and couldn't have been happier. The accommodations were homey and comfortable and the views were breathtaking. Breakfast each morning was delicious and enjoyed on the deck overlooking the lake. Never having stayed at a B&B I had some trepidation. To be blunt, "I like my privacy". Well those fears were quickly put to rest. John and Beth were the perfect hosts. They only involved themselves when welcomed to but were quickly available when needed. We so enjoyed them that we ended up spending some time getting to know them. They are both musicians and song writers and John actually performed some original music while we enjoyed breakfast. Beth is an adorable pixie with a wry sense of humor. Felt like we made some new friends. The rooms were thoughtfully put together and had a terrific view out every window. We were even treated to beautiful hot air balloons hovering over the lake. Gorgeous wineries to visit, bike paths to ride and a hike to the local falls. We spent 3 nights and came away greatly rejuvenated. Love love loved it.If you go (and you should) try challenging John or Beth to a game of table tennis . But be forewarned, they probably won't let you win!
Relaxing Getaway
This is the type of B&B we prefer - not a fancy collection of overdecorated rooms with little contact with hosts but a space in someone's home and the chance to interact with them. John and Beth have made the bottom floor of their house into a very comfortable, spacious lodging. The location is beautiful and central if you want to explore wineries or the surrounding countryside ( a great relief after the built up intensity of Seattle's suburbs). They are wonderful hosts - very helpful and responsive. but not intrusive at all. Unfortunately we were visiting when the smoke from fires made the air quite dense so we weren't able to take full advantage of the amenities provided but we did get to eat our first breakfast on the deck overlooking the lake- very peaceful and we had a lovely conversation with John and Beth. This is a good place to stay if you want to spend time there - kayaks, hot tub and chairs on the deck and dock - comfortable living area with music, books, t.v.. We ate at a couple of restaurants nearby that were good, especially Italianissimo.
Wonderfully Relaxing
We had an amazing time here! The place was very clean and the hosts were so friendly and accommodating. They made us feel at home. We spent most of our time relaxing on the lake, but also did some wine tasting, which was only a short drive away. We will definitely have to stay longer next time and explore more!
