Stayed with 2 friends in a triple room. Hotel was lovely and welcoming, as was the check in staff who couldnt do enough for us. Room was spotless, warm, and very comfy. Right about of plugs and even usb for phone charging. Huge big tv and plenty of towels and tea/coffee. Didnt use pool this time but looked great. Breakfast was fab, amazing choice, literally everything you could want and beautiful coffee machine. Shower was one of best id used and it was useful to have toilet seperate with 3 girls all using bathroom. Will deffo stay again. All staff were lovely and location was a ten min walk from everything. Perfect stay!
Will definitely go back

Please ignore all the other reviews. The hotel is everything it says it is. Yes the toilet is in a funny place but the bathroom is superb and you can easily live with the toilet were it is Yes the car park is £14 a day including an extra day free after we booked out but it’s York and to guarantee safe, secure and easy parking it was worth every penny The staff from reception to breakfast snd evening meal were superb and couldn’t do enough for us Like all hotels there may be faults but I’m sure the people we dealt with would be more than happy to help and sort it out. Can’t wait to go back just to see the friendly and helpful staff
Lost swimming costume

Stayed in room 311 recently Adequate for my needs. Comfy bed, large tv. Slightly tired shower room but overall decent. Staff helpful. Shame car charging points were broken but staff did try and help with an extension lead. Parking expensive at £14 per day. Not too far to walk into York. What ruined the stay for me was the loss of a brand new maternity swimming costume. I’d hung the costume in the bathroom, forgot to check the bathroom when I left, but realised as soon as I got home and unpacked. Housekeeping were going into the room as I left. I rang the same day, explained exactly where I’d left the costume (100% certain), yet amazingly hadn’t been found. Left it several days, called and emailed again. Still not found. It was impossible to miss. It has either been binned or taken. Totally soured my stay. I appreciate leaving it was my fault, but surely expecting it to be returned isn’t unreasonable. Have stayed with the Novotel around 30 nights this year and this is the first issue I’ve had.
Dont do it

We paid £164 expecting a reasonable hotel experience. There are far less expensive places in York but thought the Novotel was worth the extra. Well it isn't. Its not quality or lavish, its worse than a premier Inn. When we arrived they even changed us an additional £14 to park. You have to squeeze round the toilet to shut the door..tiny un wrapped plastic cups and a mixer tap... Poor room facilities. We won't be back. Avoid avoid avoid theres many better options. This room tonight is only £105 if you book it today but still overpriced. Slow WiFi. Shocking
