Poor payment experience
Visited the beer garden. The awful Orderry app is no longer available on the App Store, and it is now a website only. Beer is 4.75 but there is a minimum order of £5, so you are forced to buy something else. The website does not work with Apple Pay, you have to take a card with you. I don’t remember the last time I needed one, and didn’t have one. I asked to pay with a machine but that is not allowed (I’m not sure how this hotel takes money otherwise!). Lovely spot, shame about their choice in payment apps.
Amazing
Me and my partner were walking past and thought we would stop in for a drink. From the second we got there the staff were incredible. Dan seated us, then we asked to move under the heater he moved us straight away. He was polite. The service was perfect, drinks here within seconds. Dan even brought us a blanket. A credit to your crew. Can highly recommend the churchill.
Fantastic hotel
We stayed at the Churchill Hotel for 1 night after having our anniversary weekend in Wales cut short due to lock down. The hotel is situated on the edge of town and 5/10 minutes walk from the minster and city centre. The hotel itself is immaculate with every room being decorated differently. The staff are wonderful, polite and approachable. Highly recommended for a stay.
Exception value, very safe, superb customer service
Thank you very much for such a lovely stay. Lunch in the igloo was superb, greeted by a super friendly host who explained everything so well. Made our experience worry free and really special. Both our lunch and breakfast were delicious. Great portion sizes and varied menu. The team at the hotel were outstanding, nothing was too much trouble. They fitted us in for a last minute breakfast and professionally managing an incident in the carpark. (Another guest bumped our car). The rooms we super, lovely smellies in the bathrooms, powerful shower and comfy bed. Great location, 5 minute walk to the minster and shops. Thank you for a great stay, we will be back.
Great Hotel in the heart of the city !
Stayed here with my girlfriend the hotel was easy to find and parking was not an issue. The hotel itself had lots of character and for the price we paid the rooms were very nice. York is an amazing city with lots to explore. Zara was not so nice but the girlfriend insisted it was a key landmark 🤷♂️.
