We asked for a room with a balcony, which looked out toward the Plaza Mayor and the Cathedral. We loved that we could walk to the main areas in the downtown area at a reasonable price! A spacious room with a separate sitting area, and also a mini-fridge. comfortable beds. The insulated windows help to dull the party on the street. We happened to be there on the weekend of graduation parties on the plaza! The hotel staff was very helpful, especially in helping us to park the car in a no-charge lot nearby! This is a clean, lovely hotel, with basic amenities. However, its common areas need a little attention as they appear a bit tired.

I visited Zacatecas last week. This is a magnific “Colonial” city. I have never been there before, but my friends had recommended me visit it, I didn’t have time. Honestly, I have preferred visit other place. When I arrived at the city, I realized that although was a small city there were a lot of things to do and discover. Zacatecas was founded by Spanish. Spanish left to Spain five centuries ago in order to discover new way to reach to India, but America was discovered by them, they had had to walk hundred and hundred kilometers before to have reached Zacatecas. Once they were there, they realized there were a lot of gold and silver. Since that time, mining has been the main activity. In the city you can visit the mine "Eden" there you can see how mining has evolved over time, you can see the different technics that had been applied through the time. You can visit the cathedral and see the Baroque art, as well as you can visit the different colonial buildings, each of them has stories to tell, for example the hotel Santa Lucia was a resting place of the friars, and the body of Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla was there before he reached North Mexico. You can also visit a lot of museums, where there are collections of Mexican handicrafts from several centuries. Particularly, I recommend visiting the museum of the Mexican Painter Felguerez of abstract art. Finally, you can eat the typical dishes of the region and walk through the streets at night, there are guided tours of the main streets, where you will hear legends of ancient times.
Friendly and clean but noisy

Zacatecas' centro was nonstop party both nights we were there, and this hotel is right in the thick of things. In addition to that, a lot of noise carries through the building, from the hallways and even from room to room. Our room's windows opened onto an airshaft, so in addition to the noise, we didn't get much fresh air circulating. But the staff are very nice, breakfast is decent, wifi and tv are good, and the beds are pretty comfortable. They even have three-hold outlets to charge your electronics -- something that has turned out to be surprisingly rare. If you're looking for a conveniently located place and can sleep through the noisiness, you could do worse.
Nice Stay in Centro Zacatecas

The stay at Hotel Santa Lucia was very nice. The inside of the hotel is very nice and stays with the acrhitectural features you would have in a building that in in the centro area. The elevator is not working, so hauling my luggage up to the third floor was not fun. They do offer assistance with your luggage, if desired. I was give one of the two rooms with a balcony over looking the cathedral. I do agree that the rooms need some updating. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The included breakfast is not buffet, but is made to order from a few selections. The breakfast was also very tasty. Most all the central Zacatecas attractions are a short walk from the hotel. Very good resturants are close also. I would stay here again when in Zacatecas.

The first time I stayed here I was really drawn into the beauty of the inside of the building. Most people would say the rooms look old, but I look that the hotel has manged to keep the original archeticture. The breakfast there was good. I enjoyed thier breads, eggs, and cereal. I enjoyed the hotel so much especially because of its location I decided to stay thier on my second trip to Zacatecas. The second time around I was very disappointed with them. When I went up to m room the room was dirty. The beds were not made and thier was trash on the floor. Im sure the individual taking us to our room made a small mistake and took us to the wrong one I hope. Overall, the hotel is beautiful in the inside and the breakfast is cute and delicous. Casa Santa Lucia is also in a great location.
