It's an easy walk from the Zermatt train station. Many shops and restaurants around the area within minutes. Clean and comfortable rooms and the views were pretty good. Breakfast was also decent and it was easy to access the Gorenegrat station and museum
Best location in downtown Zermatt

The perfect location in Zermatt. We've stayed in other hotels but this is our new "go to" location. This a classic Swiss ski hotel. Clean, well run and has a lively restaurant that caters to hotel guest as well as others. The staff and management were very accommodating. We booked it and then had to cancel due to Covid and, even though we were outside of the free cancellation period they allowed us to cancel. Then when our trip was back on we rebooked at the same rate. Based on that and the location I recommend this hotel.
Charming piece of history, and highly recommended.

My friend and I stayed at the Walliserhof during a ski vacation, and we had an excellent time. It was an excellent hotel, and one I would recommend to anyone wanting to stay at a unique piece of history in the heart of Zermatt. I believe the hotel is the second oldest in the area, and it certainly has the charm of that title. The inside is unique, clean, and atmospheric. The staff were all courtious, knowledgable, and helpful. The facilities include a spa, a ski storage area, and a place to store your luggage during your ski day. They have a buffet breakfast with waffle bar, juices, and local yogurts. The rooms were a touch on the small side, but the price is right. The sauna was also not operating the day after our ski, with no clear directions on how to get it started. But overall an excellent experience, and somewhere I would recommend or plan to stay again.
A decent night's stay.

Very clean, big room with a large communal balcony area we were not expecting. A lot of natural light and a good seating area too. There is a standard theme in Zermatt that a double room consists of two twin beds next to each other but very much different beds with different duvets - but a comfortable night none the less. There was no kettle/tea making facility (or none that we could find). No robes or slippers provided. Breakfast was adequate, it runs shorter than other hotels and ends at 10am. There is no 24 hour concierge. Overall, a very adequate 3 star hotel in an excellent location - at the very heart of the high street.
