At Destrehan Plantation, you’ll be introduced by name, not just to the people whose portraits hang in this historic home, but to many of the enslaved men and women who built this plantation.
Description
Visit the slave quarters, which offer a reminder of the brutal reality of plantation life, and see the sugar cane fields and processing equipment, which were a significant part of the plantation's economy. Destrehan Plantation is only 25 miles away from New Orleans and 10 miles away from the New Orleans International Airport.

- * If you book your tour for a specific time and arrive early or late, you can take the tour that is available when you arrive * Scooters are not allowed in the museum * Children 6 and under can enter for free - no ticket needed * AAA and Military discounts are available for up to 2 people (with valid proof) * Show your smartphone ticket in the Plantation/Gift Shop * Pets are not allowed except assistance dogs * Luggage storage available * There is no restaurant at the plantation but there are several places you can eat in St. Charles Parish
