Photo ID is required to board the ferry. Photo I.D. is not required for all in your party, but only for those who purchased tickets. * Bags larger than a standard backpack, 16" x 20", are not allowed on Alcatraz Island. Over-sized packs and luggage are not permitted. No exceptions. There are also no storage lockers at Pier 33. * No one under the age of 18 can be without an adult. * The contour of Alcatraz Island is rugged and steep. The distance between the dock and Alcatraz prison is about 1/4 mile (.4km), and the elevation change is 130 feet (40 meters). * Sustainable Easy Access Transport (S.E.A.T.) is available to those with mobility impairment. * Consuming foods is only allowed at picnic areas. * Service dogs are allowed.
